Perfect for 1 year old!
Perfect for my 1 year old. They don't sell anything for babies anymore that just float them lightly and don't ride up around there necks and make them miserable the whole time. This is perfect for my 1 year old who weighs about 24 lbs. I bought a floaty ring to put her in at the same time because it does bop her on her back or face but with the ring she sits perfectly and swims all around the pool (obviously don't let your child out of your site even with these on) the quality is great, it is small I don't think it would fit a 2 year old comfortably. For sizing chart my daughter wears between a 12 and 18 months in carters.

Excellent Product. Teaches confidence, balance, independence and teaches kids to swim!
Our third child has just outgrown this 2T Plouf. Our first two children learnt to swim using Ploufs exclusively. They work so well because they are comfortable (once on...getting them on is a bit of a struggle mind you!), they don't ride up, and kids become so confident in the water. We were surprised when we let our older 2 kids take off their Ploufs at around age 3 and 5 and they could swim immediately. Of course this was after wearing them for a long time and spending time in the water at least once a week. Ploufs do have a learning curve....when you first put them on your child, they won't be able to float or even stay upright by themselves. You'll have to hold them. If you let them go, they may turn and go face up or face down in the water and freak out. However, after frequent trips to the pool, they will learn to balance. I take my almost-2 year old to the pool twice a week, and she "swims" (upright all the time) by herself. I don't hold her. She can move across the pool and turn in circles now. She has also learnt how to float on her back, and hold on to the side of the pool and kick. No swim instructors needed, just a Plouf and some time. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5, is I believe the sizing is inaccurate. I know Ploufs are supposed to be well-fitting, but getting my toddler into this is almost tortuous for her, so I am on here shopping for the next size up! This 2T Plouf is suitable for a 1 year old. I would size up to size 3T if your toddler is older than 1.

Cute
Runs small, it didn’t help my daughter up on the water so don’t count on it. Really cute though if your Child knows how to swim, bed needs a little help this would work
