Organic 100% Whole Wheat Hi-Pro Fine Flour – 25 lb. bag

I bought this brand on Amazon during the Covid-19 sell-out. My usual brand is Bob's Red Mill. This one is at least as good as Bob's, or even better. Very flavorful flour. I have made all sorts of whole wheat breads with this flour in our Zojirushi bread machine. The bag is pretty large and you may need to pour it into another container for convenience. There is a spout on the bag that I could not figure out. However, I don't think I will use this once whole wheat flours come back to my grocery store. Central Milling Flour is very expensive compared to others.

I purchased this back in April 2020 when I honestly could not find whole wheat flour ANYWHERE. I have a sourdough starter and use a mix of all-purpose flour and whole wheat when feeding my starter, so I was desperate to get more whole wheat flour before I ran out. I was a bit hesitant to buy such a large bag, but made the purchase anyway. It was honestly a really good decision as it the bag came in perfect condition and the quality of the flour was great. As a plus, it smells EXACTLY like blueberry muffins which was a bit confusing at first. I store the bag in a big plastic bin on my kitchen shelves and am about halfway through it as of July 2020. Definelty will purchase again as I still don't see any whole wheat flour in the grocery store.

Like many others during this coronavirus pandemic, I've been baking more (I grew up on a farm in Montana and watched my mother bake 8 loaves of bread per week plus cinnamon rolls and doughnuts, so baking is in my blood!) And like many I've been having a hard time finding flour and yeast in the stores, so turned to Amazon for rescue! This flour is awesome! I usually use 100% whole wheat flour, and the reviews for this compared it favorably to King Arthur, which I like. This Utah grown and milled wheat is a lovely smooth fine texture, high in protein, and it baked up into wonderful loaves! An aside...I live in SE Arizona and the weather is heating up, I have a large oval crackpot that a loaf pan fits in and I bake bread in it outside to save heating up my kitchen! In the oven or in the crockpot, this flour is outstanding!

I haven't baked with this flour yet but it appears to be a good quality product. I prepare and donate full-nutrition vegetarian cat kibble and dog kibble to a pet food bank and to an animal sanctuary. I need large amounts of whole wheat flour for this project. My local market has stopped restocking bulk organic whole wheat flour, so I need to purchase this online.

I have used another brand of unbleached whole wheat flour that suddenly wasn't available due to Covid-19 and the resulting logistic mess. I ordered this as the only whole wheat, unbleached flour I could find that wasn't outrageously priced. 25 pounds is a lot, but it's stashed in a number of sealed containers and is keeping just fine. It has a good flavor in bread and pizza crusts. When chilled, the dough rolls out thinner than I get with my usual choice. I'm certain to buy more of this but need a good, economical way to store it.

I don't know how much one can say about flour.. Delivery time is fine (used included shipping) This is a good quality fine grind organic flour and is perfectly serviceable. Note that, as with ALL grains, it should be frozen on arrival for at least 3 to 5 days to help kill any potential bug eggs or larvae. Sorry, those are just the facts.. ALL grains coming into your home should be frozen for this reason unless you intend to use all of immediately. Also it is a whole wheat flour so it includes the wheat germ, and should be stored frozen if you're not going to use it within a couple of months.

I got this initially because nothing else was available and we wanted to make our own wholegrain bread. It has turned out to be really excellent flour and I would now buy it for it's flavor. It makes really delicious bread — aided by technique of course. The longer it spends proving the tastier it gets. Two thumbs up!

I bake sourdough bread. This is a good flour, it has a great taste. It’s a good value. I wish I could find it in a bigger size for baking with or that I could buy in bulk.
