Save money on heating and air conditioning bills
I like this hinge. I replaced the center hinge of 3 hinges of a 1960s exterior wood door with windows that never seemed to get shut. I purchased 2 4-inch hinges but wanted to see if only 1 would work on this midweight door. The tightening settings were not as clear as I hoped, more like a subtle dull thud rather than a click. The door self closes to the frame, but does not shut all the way to latching. It may be due to a slight imbalance from having to retrofit the hinge into a "close but not quite" setting of the old hinge, or perhaps I need to use an additional hinge. Regardless, it's a lot better than the door hanging wide open. It should pay for itself in reduced heating and AC bills in no time.

Good value for the price, I think. Time will tell.
Nice, heavy-duty, easy to replace the old one that lasted 33 years. Hoping this one also has a long life!

Works well!
I only installed one of these onto my bedroom doors to allow the doors to swing shut when the cats enter the bedrooms. One was more than sufficient for the lightweight hollow core doors. It has a few settings that you can adjust for how hard the door closes. I set it to the lightest, to allow the cats to be able to push/pull the doors open. It wont close the door all the way at this setting, which is perfect for what I wanted, but you can adjust it higher to fully close the door. My only gripe with them is on the strongest setting, its really difficult to adjust the screw to loosen it up again. The way it works is that you can torque it a few times to increase the door closing strength, or push in the adjustment screw to unlock it and reset it to its lowest setting. Thankfully you pretty much just need to set it once and then never mess with it again. Also, I much prefer this method to some of the other hinge designs that require you to insert a locking pin, which just seems very flimsy to me. Overall the hinges feel like theyre very good quality. It came with a lot of hardware for installation. Value isn't what I would like, as many of the other self closing hinges are much cheaper.

Perfect, very high quality hinge!
Exactly what I was looking for. This is a high-quality hinge, far nicer than I had expected. I'm not certain, but it looks like it's been milled, instead of stamp-cut like the cheap contractor-grade hinges. It has a nice heft to it, with very clean edges and milled countersunk holes. Compared to the (cheap) brass hinge I was replacing, this is just a tad thicker--shouldn't be enough to affect replacement of one existing hinge without replacing all of the ones you have, but if your door is hung with very tight clearance, this *might* prevent the door from closing easily. I wanted an interior hollow core door to close on its own, because my family members were constantly leaving the door open to my home office room, which is air conditioned and filtered for controlling dust. Though I bought two, you only need one of these for an interior hollow core door--there's plenty of tension that can be adjusted, and I think even two might be too much. I replaced the middle hinge of the door with this hinge, so that the extra thickness I mentioned above wouldn't cause the door to hang out of level. Tensioning/detensioning is easy, and directions were fine. I'll definitely buy these again!

Keeps the Varmints Out!
Works like a charm. It was pretty easy to install and adjust. I live in a household with many pets, one of whom wants to claim his territory by marking everything in his perceived little kingdom. Since I can't reasonably take him for a very, very, very long drive, this was the next best solution. I would occasionally forget to close my door, and ninja kitty took advantage of every possible opportunity to sneak in and stink the joint up. You've seen it before, they back up to something trying to look nonchalant, a rear leg or tail twitch and BAM!!, you've been hit. But I digress. This hinge worked great, in that I can no longer leave my door open. If you need a way to keep subversive little monsters out, treat yourself to a spring loaded door hinge or two. For the record, I have a fairly light interior door and only needed one. My use of floral smelling air fresheners has been dramatically reduced.

Works well
I bought two of these hinges for the twin doors leading to my pantry. For years I've been unhappy with the doors because I would always have to push them closed to ensure they engaged the magnets and stay closed. I installed one hinge in the middle of each door after reading the instructions carefully. Following the instructions, I disengaged the internal mechanism, installed the hinges, and then tightened the mechanism 4 or five clicks until I got the result I needed. Now the doors close firmly enough to engage the magnetic catches, but gently enough to not slam shut with a bang and the risk of their bouncing off the magnetic catches. Very satisfied with these hinges. Wish I'd found them years ago.

Quality
The hinges were replacement hinges for a church sanctuary entrance with double doors. The old springs were broken. Each door was approximately 75 lbs.. The hinges arrived sooner than expected and were top quality, easily installed and adjusted perfectly ๐ฅฐ

Broke right away...
This was easy to install and tighten, but it wouldn't stay tight. After a few times of opening the door, I'd hear a loud "ping", then the tension would be gone. I'd re-tighten it, but it wouldn't last. No instructions were included, and so I went online to find them. All I got were instructions on where to put the hinge on the door frame, how to install it for left or right swinging doors, and the different materials the hinges were made of. NO info on how to tighten it or keep it tight. I ended up returning it. This all happened the first day I installed it. Not happy with it.

opt for these hinges, don't use other door closers
I've tried two other styles of door closers. One was the kind with a rod that you screw into the door, the other was a hinge pin. They're both trash. I used them for my bedroom door, and had to crank them as tight as they could go and it still didn't close the door. Not only that, but they're a real pain to install. The rod style broke within a day, and the hinge pin pops out constantly, forcing me to re-torque it with the included tool. Needless to say, they're both incredibly finicky and unreliable. These hinges, however, work like a charm. The instructions say not to crank it more than 6 turns. Three cranks and the door closes like a charm. I bought two for each door. The price is WELL worth the product. I'm thoroughly impressed!

Installed easily and easy to adjust. Ty
My door needed 3 hinges to close properly, probably due to the weather strip. These are easy to adjust.

It works fine but the instruction is not accurate.
While trying to install this spring hinge, I almost gave up and returned it because the hinge out of the package was so tight and I couldn't release the tension as described in the instruction which says "press down and turn counterclockwise". Only after searching on the internet I found out that one should press down and turn clockwise a bit then release cuz that's the right way to reduce/release the tension. Wonder why the manufacturer didn't write its own manual properly.
