Decided to upgrade my F350 with the HELLA Supertone 12V High Tone/Low Tone Twin Horn Kit, I was going for something that demanded attention. And oh, it does—just not quite in the way I expected. Picture this: a beast of a truck that, when it honks, unleashes a sound you'd swear was a very angry, very loud Volkswagen. My dad can't stop laughing, and honestly, it’s become a bit of a running joke. About the horns themselves. First off, the red protective grill gives them a pretty cool look—if aesthetics are your thing, these don't disappoint. Installation was straightforward enough, not rocket science, but here's the kicker: these horns are LOUD. I mean, really loud. The kind of loud that gets everyone's attention on the road (and possibly a few startled glances, wondering where that sound is coming from). The twin horn setup, offering both high tone and low tone, creates a sound that's undeniably powerful, albeit not the deep, throaty honk you might expect from a truck. Instead, it’s a sharp, penetrating sound that slices through traffic noise with ease. So, would I recommend the HELLA Supertone Horns? Absolutely—if you're looking for something that packs a punch volume-wise and you can appreciate the humor in turning heads with a sound that defies expectations. Just be prepared for some confused looks and a good laugh, especially if your vehicle looks nothing like a Volkswagen

I love these horns. They have already prevented someone from backing into me in a parking lot. But after installing them, I read the instructions where they clearly say NOT to move the mounting brackets, or change the torque on that nut. Woops. That was the first thing I did. Luckily, they still work and sound good to me. My video compares the original Honda horn with these new ones. Big difference. They neighborhood echo'd with the new ones. I didn't originally plan on installing them behind the front grill, but I like them there. We'll see over time if they handle the heat of the radiator right next to them.

This is my 3rd set of Hella Supertone horns. The first 2 were purchased long ago to upgrade the sound of a Mercedes and Land Rover. They were made in Germany. This set was made in India. Other than buying factory replacement horns for a vehicle whose horn sound you like, buying horns based on an expectation of a certain sound or tone is actually quite difficult. I like the sound of the Supertones, but I knew that before buying them. They really sound like Mercedes Benz horns from the 1970s - early 2000s. If you like that sound, you will certainly like these. Others may find the sound kind of shrill. One thing is for sure: any prolonged blast is impossible to ignore. You will be noticed. You will be heard. These horns are directional, so attention and planning should be made to aim them forward if possible. The enclosed mounting "bracket" is useable only if you are replacing a similar style horn. Please note that you may need to fabricate a custom bracket to mount the horns properly. This is what I needed to do. Also note that these horns are actually quite large and may not fit where thd original horn was mounted. I prefer the slightly smaller 4 inch horn for ease of fitment. These were installed in a 2007 Ford Escape. I had to remove both inside front fender liners and the front bumper cover to access the original horn. Disassenbly and reassembly took over 4 hours. Fabricating mounts and installing all wiring to and from the horns and relay took a few more hours. It was worth it, but it was a full days work. Plan your time accordingly. I must note that you must use the included relay or be certain that your own vehicle has a dedicated 15 amp circuit for the original horn. Most will not. Failure to wire horn as instructed will result in lower volume. This voltage drop accounts for some of the poor reviews of this product. Also, the instructions are very clear only if you are used to reading electrical diagrams. Otherwise, they stink. Came in good condition but the red had some scratches even tho it was in a plastic but I painted it to subaru cherry blossom red.

Installed on an Evo X. Pulled the OEM horns and used the existing connectors to attach to the hella horns. Connected a common ground that attached to the hood latch bolt hidden behind the front bumper. the horns were mounted to the front bumper mounts on the left and right side of the hood latch so you can see them peeping through the front grill. Stupid easy to install in my opinion and sound great. They are much larger than the OEM horns. I would recommend these horns just for the look it gives the vehicle but the sound improvement is also a plus. I do have one complaint though.... The nuts on the back of the horn to hold on the mounting plates were sooo tight that I couldn't even brake them loose with a 1/2 inch drive ratchet. I would of tried a larger tool or putting it in a vise, but did not want to damage the horns on accident. Luckily though I was able to cut two of them off and bend the third to match up with the mounting points. In the end, everything looked great and mounted up as expected.

I now have 3 sets of these horns installed on my vehicles. I will soon be running 2 sets on one car as it is my personal show car and if Im driving it...whoever needs to be "alerted" will hear me! I am a car enthusiast as a hobby. I am one of those people who cant leave anything stock. Weather its a car, truck, SUV, call phones, laptop, etc...I have to modify it. And lets face it...stock factory car horns usually suck! In many cases it is embarrassing! Installation can be difficult depending on the car simply because these are larger than the factory horns and mounting them can be time consuming. Even knowing how to wire them in it still takes an afternoon to do a proper, clean install. Sometimes, to do a real clean install will take a day. These horns are NOT plug-n-play. They do require wiring and hardware not supplied. As everyones setup will be different, so it is impossible to include these parts in the kit. Once installed these horns work exactly as described....LOUD! Once you see the look of terror from some random driver the ends up with an ear-full of horn through there open drivers window, you will know the cost of these was justified. If you choose to hook these up to your alarm system as well, be ready for a very loud and almost obnoxious sound. These work great when hooked up to the alarm siren, even overpowering the siren in most cases. These are the best sounding horns out there. They are loud, sound great and perform every time. In no way are these cheap horns in terms of quality or performance. I will use these on every car I own and recommend them to everyone who asks. UPDATE: On my factory Nissan keyless entry, the horns sound funky and wimpy when locking the vehicle due to the short burst and most likely low voltage singal sent to the horns for the keyless system. It sounds aathmatic. UPDATE #2: The low pitch horn died on my wifes car. It now sounds funky as only the high pitch works. A little disappointed as these only lasted about 5 years for me now.

I love these horns. I installed them myself, and you can do the same with the wealth of knowledge available online thoroughly detailing the basic guidelines that are shipped with the product. You still need to buy a couple useful things and find some other household supplements for your installation, but these horns are effective at close range or long range, used offensively or defensively. These horns are like the Kamehameha in sound wave form. Or a sword or some other dangerous thing used in public settings occasionally. So I take care not to blow it at simpleton pedestrians. It's just not cool. Unless there is someone with a death wish crossing the street at the absolute wrong time. You know the types. Those folks get honked at. Rush hour traffic? Yes. Bogarting my lane because you think my lil car houses a punk a** driver? No sir. I LAY on the horn like someone lies on a beach with a tanning addiction. The longest I honked at someone was probably like ten seconds. Nothing overpowers the sound of my horn. It drowns out any sorry a** OEM horn, and actually catches the attention of the train conductor blaring his horn. Took turns honking down a street one time, it was cool. Use caution when you honk at bikers. I haven't done it yet because every time I encounter them using an entire or half of a lane, there's not a lot of traffic, so I cannot fault them. But I'm waiting for the day there's a fool in busy traffic pretending to be Lance Armstrong while obeying traffic signals. I might surprise this person so badly that they fall from their bike. (Extra: Combine these with an alarm system to differentiate your vehicle from others!) These horns are that good. Use them wisely.

I drive a small sports coupe with a wimpy horn which often gets overlooked/cut off in traffic. I installed these with the included relay and let me tell you they get people's attention. I did a lot of research on these so with that the installation/wiring was relatively straight forward and simple. The included diagram is a little confusing, so if you're like me with limited electrical experience you may want to fall back on an online tutorial (there are tons of them). Installing these requires you to remove your OEM horn(s) and I also had to cut one OEM horn connector to splice into the positive (+) signal wire. That is the only modification required to the vehicle itself but it should be mentioned. They function great, have a great appearance and are loud as heck. Some people expect a deep tone but these are pretty "sharp" and somewhat high pitched, but it's an ideal "alarming" tone. 4 stars because they are packed rather crudely. The box is thin and there was no packing material what-so-ever inside, only a small thin flap of cardboard separating the two horns. Because of that mine were able to knock into each other in shipment resulting in some very small imperfections and scratches in the red grill paint. You have to be very close to see it but I expect better packing for the price and a company who has been making these for quite a while. My buddy ordered Sharptones and his horns at least came in separate plastic baggies, mine had no such luxury.

Loud. That is what these are. I've installed these on my Hyundai Santa Fe as the stock horn on that car is nothing but embarrassing. I managed to replace them with these Hella horns without having to remove the bumper. It can be done by just removing the headlights. It is very tight though! Using some spade connectors, I created a wire to go from the horns to the existing wiring, no need to use the relay that comes with the horns in my case which helped make it even easier. I'm no mechanic by any stretch of the imagination. Really pleased with these although the new sound is different to what you might expect. All I cared for what the loudness and I got it.

Good set of horns. No neex to worry of genuine product as its original hella horn set with a relay. It dosnt provide a wire kit thst you have to manage. 2horns with bracket. 1horn relay. I purchased 2yrs back for 1900 something

I’m using Nissan Pathfinder 2018 on OEM wiring and its working better than the OEM horns.
