Best Pruners I own, just more upkeep then a cheap/disposable pair.
Having an orchard and multiple gardens I end up buying a multiples of many tools some cheaper but this is one of the times I did some research before buying another cheap pair as there is 3 other brands 2 of which have broken safeties one can make your hand bleed if the safety catches you and the other randomly engages requiring it to be switched off each time it happens. This however is nothing like that the safety on this is a simple but effective leather strap has never cached nor is it a pinch risk.It has tight construction that can be adjusted if it loosens or if you want to do a deep clean.Takes more to upkeep then stainless counterparts as it can and will rust and the leather will flake if you don't upkeep it but for that they stay sharper longer are more durable and I didn't really consider the leather until it flaked off but it still functions as intended just lost the nice look of the leather which I think most would probably not bother as well if it still works. What I think matters most is it is clean and makes clean cuts which it does with ease if you do your part. How strong/durable the product is and I have used these on hard wood that I should of probably used lobbers on and with some effort they worked great didn't even loosen them up any.Price/maintenance I have had these for years now and they have not given me a problem and cant see having to replace them I will be likely buying these any time I need a pair for its own job and never needing a new one. They just require a little oil after use and for most a scrub now and then as well as a quick sharpening when it starts to dull. For that you can get a life time of use out of these, they still cut like the day I bought them.TL;DRVery strong at the right price for what you get and should last you a life time if you put the effort into upkeeping them which is more then a typical cheap pair.

Good initially
I liked these initially... very sturdy, simple and seemed durable. Unfortunately, after moderate use, one of the "pins" that holds the spring in place broke off, so the spring will no longer stay in place. They still cut but, you have to open and close them like scissors in order to use them. Bummer... I wanted to love these, and I did for a few months. Now they make a decent paper weight...

Good shears. Prefer Corona's though.
I lost my $20 Corona's and decided to try these out. These cut well, but I think the Corona's keep their sharpness longer. One thing I don't like about these is the locking mechanism. The strap on the end of the handle requires two hands to secure. The Corona's can easily be closed with one hand. I do a lot of pruning and brush clearing and often get them out and put them back, so the locking mechanism is important to me. The sheath is not useful to me. Having to open and close the Velcro strap takes time. I have another open holster that you can just slide them in. I much prefer it. Bought it for $12 at Ace. That is how I lost my other Corona's though. They jumped out of the holster.

Even my weak hands can use these shears!
I love gardening and living in sunny Florida, that is a year round hobby. I have purchased many cheap pruning shears in my life and they were exactly that, cheaply made. These shears are substantial, when you hold them in your hand you can feel they are solid and I love the case they came with, which will help me keep them as good as new.I have problems with my hands being very weak and it has caused me much gardening frustration. These shears were NOT at all difficult for me to operate and I pruned quite a few branches in a very short amount of time (see photos). I really put them through their paces, cutting some branches that I probably should have used larger loppers on but I wanted to see what they could do. Moving forward, I will use them only for the type of cutting they were meant for because I want them to last a good long while--in fact, this is probably the first time I carefully wiped the blades after using them and before putting them back in their case.I was offered these fabulous pruning shears at a discount to share my review with you and I can highly recommend these to you.

Not A Fan
I had high hopes for this pair of pruning shears, but was terribly disappointed. It's not that it didn't cut well, it did. It's not that it wasn't made well, it is. The problems I have with it are that the blades stick together after making a cut. They don't spring back open as they should, ready for the next cut. It's as if the spring is not strong enough. I've cleaned and lubricated the blades numerous times with no improvement. My other beef is the absolute awful closing method of using a leather loop. The loop is too short, is often twisted and it makes it difficult to loop over the other handle. It just feels cheap. What will I do when the leather breaks off? A metal hook or clasp of some kind would have been preferable.

All is well....
The saying "All is well that ends well" pretty much sums up my buying experience. The shears are high quality and attractive gardening tools with a handy pruner sheath. My only concern was that the scissors arrived with several areas of chipped paint on the handles (very unsightly) that could scratch the skin on your hand. I decided to return them because of these concerns. Beville Gardens promptly refunded my costs, but the thing that impressed me the most was that they were very concerned when I told them that the shears had arrived cosmetically defective. Beville Gardens immediately sent me a second pair of shears, and they were in perfect condition. They are almost too nice looking to use (very sharp blade and heavy metal construction). I respect this company for the professional and prompt resolution of the problem. Beville Gardens showed me that mistakes can happen and that a quality company like this one can quickly correct them to the customer's satisfaction. Impressive shears and excellent customer service.

Great until they broke
These were great until the spring popped off and wouldn't go back on. That happened juuuuust after it was too late to return them.
