Not as dark as I expected but the thickness is very nice

These are nice rugs. They hold up well and are worth the money. My other Safavieh wool rug is 5 years old and still looks great. I will buy this brand if rug again.

Gorgeous wool carpet. Brilliant colors, so thick and soft - no shedding, no odor. 9.6x13.6 under $500.00 is a steal.

I love the pattern, the fact that it’s wool and it looks to be of good quality. However it’s a stink bomb. It smells like a cross between used axle grease and a smoky brushfire. I’ve purchased many wool area rugs in the past and they all had an odd smell but this one is different, this one is the worst, and this one isn’t dissipating. My entire house stinks.

This 100% wool rug was exactly what we were looking for in terms of size, pattern, quality of material and backing. The rug color we received was not quite what we were expecting based on the picture on Amazon. I've attached a couple pictures of the rug we received to this review. You'll notice there are blues and the pinks that appear much more prominent in the rug we received. But we like it anyway. I did a lot of research on rugs before we bought this. I wanted a rug we didn't have to use with a rug pad so that meant we needed to have a soft backing that wouldn't damage our new bamboo flooring. We didn't want to use a pad for a couple reasons. 1. We didn't need to worry about the rug slipping on a smooth surface because we were going to have a heavy oak dining room table sitting on top of it. 2. We weren't going to have a lot of foot traffic walking across it which might wear out the rug quicker if you didn't provide a cushion between the rug and a hard floor. The Safavieh wool rugs seem to have a nice soft backing to them and also are very moderately priced for 100% wool. I don't think you can beat the price for the quality of this rug.The rug arrived in only 2 business days after we ordered it. We're on the central coast of California and it shipped from a warehouse in Fontana in Southern California. The country of origin for this rug is India. It was shipped fully rolled and not folded. I had read reviews for some other wool rugs on Amazon where the buyers were complaining the rug came folded instead of rolled and the buyers had a terrible time trying to get the creases out so the rug would lay flat. So I was really pleased when this rug showed up rolled. The rug was also double bagged in heavy plastic which helped protect it from shipping damage. There were no unusual smells with this rug as I have read about in reviews with some other rugs from other manufacturers.

I purchased the black and beige 3x5, saw how wonderful it looked and felt under my feet. they are nice and thick and somewhat heavy. Reminds me of the carpets in those grand hotels. Well, I then had to buy the 8ft runner and the 4x4 for under my coffee table. These have all really upgraded my studio apartment to an even higher level of luxury. No strange odor as some have reported. Smelled like new rugs to me. Didn't even notice really. I purchased pads for under two of the three. Yes, new wool sheds, after all, wool is from a sheep. These are laying on low pile 100% wool carpeting. The pads help them stay in place. I enjoy walking on them . These were a fantastic value for sure.

We looked round for something that matches our space, and are so happy with this beautiful design and colours - red, gold and black. We bought this to replace some very old and worn out rugs , and to cover a hard tile floor in the kitchen. This rug is plusher and thicker than most of the others we have, and so comfy under our feet. There is no detectable bad odour - smells like a wool rug (nothing chemical or anything), so important for us and the cats. It's easy to clean, but it does shed a little, like all the other wool rugs we have had. We always buy natural fibre rugs, as the old ones go to the neighbours big dogs for continued use.

I’ve bought 5 or more Safavieh rugs over the past 15 years, and have found that the quality is typically excellent. One of my rugs I bought some time ago shed a great deal and I was a bit wary about whether this rug would also shed.It does not, and the pile is thick and plush. The pile is over 1/2” thick, and feels great under the feet.The reason for the 4/5 stars is that the rug is a good bit darker than shown on Amazon with colors that are generally muted. I’ve included a couple of quick pics.It works well for me because although I love the rug shown on the website, the colors of this one still work well with my room.Overall, you can trust this manufacturer of great quality rugs at a very reasonable price.

The carpet itself was good quality, soft and plush nice colours as well....but it IS NOT 4’x4’. It measures 3’6” in diameter!!! First thing I have ever returned on amazon after years and a ton of purchases. The seller took it back, but didn’t refund the money until two weeks AFTER they had received the carpet. It took many emails to even attempt to rectify the problem; I dare say that if I hadn’t have kept after them, they would have kept both my money and the carpet!If you go in knowing what exactly you are getting (the dimensions), I don’t think that you will be disappointed.

Quality is awful! I dont want to clean it by hands... lots of wool fiber on the floor. Returning!

Purchased to protect the floor under my easel, and got much more than I bargained for. Rug is quite thick and significantly reduces fatigue (as compared to standing for hours on a stone floor).Sure, it shed a fair bit in the first weeks, but a quick zoom zoom and all was good.

Great value, prompt shipping. Exceeded my expectations in every way. I will be buying more.

This rug is gorgeous and well-made. We bought it for the hallway of our RV, and it looks stunning there. Looks like it will last a long time. The colours are a little more muted than we thought, but that is fine, suits the decor better. Very happy with this rug.
