Great for nuisance black bears
This product is great. I use it to keep black bears from getting up on my deck. Here in the North GA mountains the black bear population has exploded, and they are breaking into houses. Black bears have caused thousands of dollars in damage to several nearby residences in the last few months (breaking down doors and windows, destroying the kitchen and refrigerator, etc). The acorn crop has failed this year and the bears depend on it to fatten up before their hibernation. In years past I would see a bear or two, tops, per year. But this year alone I have seen several different bears that I can tell apart with certainty: 2 moms each with 2 cubs and 2 adult males, some of which were repeat visitors, and they are bolder than in the past.I bought a can of the Guard Alaska Bear Spray, which I got to use on one of the adult males. That boy won't be coming back to my house!A word of advice: after you spray your bear don't hang around watching him run away, as satisfying as it may be, or the pepper cloud will get you. The spray is about 15ft long and quite wide, creating an orange cloud that lingers a few minutes after the spray. As soon as you use it on a bear you should order another can, because the contents empty out in about two good squirts.

Who know's if it really works!?
I got it to make my girlfriend feel safe while camping. Never had to need it or use it.My bet is it will give you a nice peppered flavor for when a bear decides they want to eat you.Does give a great false sense of security to those easily lulled. Wouldn't camp without it!

It Really Does Work
I purchased two containers of the pepper spray. One for my wife and one for me when hiking in bear country. Between the two of us, hopefully, one of us will tag the bear if it becomes a threat. My wife always wondered if the container would actually dispersed the contents in an emergency situation. So she decided to test the product against a harmless pine tree less than ten feet away. Just a short one second burst. It worked, too well for her. The spray splattered back and the pepper spray had her down on the ground rolling in pain and tearing eyes. The pepper smell gave her shortness of breath, as well. We are now convince the spray offers the best opportunity to deter a bear from an attack.

GREAT SPRAY
I havent had to use this latest can yet and hope I do not have to. From past experience the can provides several strong, long distance blasts that hit and splatter upon impact. My opinion is that it is a very good product. It works very well against ferile intact male dogs that you come accross while walking in rural areas, as is often the case where i live. It does also work on bear, although I have only used it once on a black bear. The price was great and the shipping was fast

Bear Spray
I bought this product as a Personal Protection Device. I live and work in an area overseas that can be prone to sudden demonstrations. The product fits nicely into my center console in the vehicle or in the door pocket where it is handy all the time. So far, I haven't needed to use it, however I do believe that if it will put the haze on a bear, it would certainly create the necessary confusion if used on an attacker that would give me sufficient time to escape the area.

Bear Spray. Overly expensive but probably worth it.
For backpackers in bear country this is recommended by park rangers. Not the dinner bells everyone buys for $10. This is a dangerous good item- so be careful; few people are aware of this safety item below the Canadian border. If you purchase it in Canada you cannot bring it back on the plane.Bears are hungry due to climate change and human invasions of their territory and prey.
