Good Book
This was bought as a gift for a 9yr old who I’ve been told didn’t put it down until finished. It has helped them a lot. Well written and enjoyable was feedback.

Warm and friendly wisdom
This review is written by my twelve-year-old daughter:I bought this book to help me make sense of my changing body and feelings, and how to tackle friendships and social media in a secondary school environment. All of this the book delivered on and more! The guide is written in a chatty, friendly and warm way which makes you feel as though you are really discussing these issues with someone (rather than just reading a book). Despite this though, it also manages to get across clear and powerful messages on subjects such as online safety, sexuality, bullying etc... Reading the book doesn't feel like a lesson on how you should/shouldn't feel or what you should/shouldn't do, instead it offers friendly and accessible tips and advice in order for you to feel comfortable with changes going on inside and around you. The addition of quotes from other girls experiencing similar things is great and the Q & As between girls and a professional doctor and psychotherapist make you feel as though you aren't alone in what you may be experiencing. I would 100% recommend this to anyone between 9 - 14. It's a great book with great advice and info that would make a welcome addition to any girl's emotional toolkit for dealing with puberty and the early teenage years!

Fantastic book for girls growing up!
I bought this book for my daughter although she hasn't had a chance to read it yet as I haven't been able to put it down myself! It is a fantastically written book to help guide girls through the confusing & sometimes scary period of growing into young ladies. I particularly love how the author also has input from a psychotherapist & Dr & has some great illustrations which makes the book an even more interesting read. There are also spaces within the book for your daughter to add her comments & any drawings/doodles too. This book seems to cover it all with no stone unturned & is written in a matter-of-fact witty but very helpful way. I'm learning things about myself all over again too!! I cannot recommend this book enough but I must end my review here as I have a good book to finish!!

A MUST read for girls
At last a book that demystifies puberty and growing up! As a parent of my own teenage girl I found this book was able to talk about all those things that she might not be able to ask me herself. Wonderfully written and illustrated and also cleverly includes pages where the reader can personalise their copy by including their own drawings and thoughts. Answers questions about puberty but not just the biology, particularly good are the chapters on friendships and online issues. My daughter loved it and I wish I had one when I was a girl growing up. This book is informative, useful but in a warm and accessible way that girls between the age of 8-14 will love.

A fantastic guide for girls!
This is a wonderful book. It's wittily and intelligently written without ever talking down to its reader, and strikes a lovely balance of covering not just the facts and practicalities of growing up, but also common emotional and social issues. My 10 year old loved the combination of the thoughtful, kind and funny authorial voice alongside the book's regularly distributed expert advice (from a GP and a therapist), peer commentary and the spaces for personalising the book (a fantastic touch). She absolutely devoured it, and I'm sure will continue to return to it on a regular basis.

Brilliant book for young girls
I bought this for my daughter who is 10 but had obvious signs that her period was about to start (it actually started the week after buying the book!) Lucy has found it easy to read and engaging, and she coped so well when her periods started while I was at work, because in her words ‘she knew exactly what to do!’ I would definitely recommend it!

Excellent book!
This book is really great. I bought it for my soon to be 12 year old daughter. We read a section of it together each bedtime. It is so well written, as though a bestfriend is chatting to you which my daughter loves.Deals with all the basics of puberty plus so much more....it’s been written with the clear goal of boosting a girl’s confidence, getting her to accept that there is no “normal”, that everyone is different and not to obsess over looks. I think every pre-teenager should have a copy of this book!

Ripped
The package it came in was opened and left in a snow pile and the book was a little wet.

Its a bit too informative then what I was looking for to explain puberty to my 10 year old young daughter, since she is still young, I didn't want something with so much detail yet especially the sex chapter. If she was 12 I think it would be more suitable.

VERY DESCRIPTIVE AND NOT SUITED FOR KIDS
Parents beware!! This book talks about VERY advanced sex Ed including orgasims, condoms, erections, porn and gay sex. Definitely NOT APPROPRIATE for a 10 or 11 yr old.I had no idea this book was so mature and would force a conversation my daughter is too young to have. She doesn’t need to know about all that. I feel like she’s been tainted and ruined. I thought the book would be cute and innocent, talking about friendships and taking care of the body.Orgasms, Masterbation ... porn ..?! Not appropriate at alll!!! I’m so mad!More appropriate for 13+
