AIPET Retractable Dog Leash for Puppies Cats and Other Little Pets (red)

I was excited to get this leash because it has a flat cord and would be easier to hold by the leash itself. I also liked the way the handle looked in the picture.When we got it, the cheap quality was obvious to see. I had seen mentions of the cheap quality on other reviews and thought it just was referring to the outside plastic. It doesn't stop there. The lock mechanism is so poorly made that it sticks when trying to unlock it if the dog is pulling in the slightest.Then, tonight while I was walking my french bulldog he tried to run at another dog and it completely broke the re-coil mechanism. I finished the walk holding the leash by the nice flat cord. At least it was a flat cord that I had to hold rather than a string cord that would have hurt.

Pictures speak for themselves. When we open the package it appeared that gooey shampoo like substance was stuck all over the leash. We thought it might be glue but upon smelling it it had a very sweet smell like a scented body wash might. In any case we're concerned about the leash and the retraction mechanism and the fact that we now have to clean and hope that there's no damage to any of the leash and parts from how it was packaged and delivered. Will be asking for a refund and am not happy!

Well, it's very pretty. I got the red, and it's shiny and beautiful. But from the very first moment of opening the pkg, the retractable function only works about half the time. My dog is pretty docile, so I didn't return it, but if you really want the retractable function to work as it should, spend a few more bucks and get another brand.

Broke withing the first week. I have a very strong dog and this just didn't hold up for him. I dropped in while I was trying to put it on him the first week and then it just wouldn't work properly after that. Threw it in the trash and got a new one from Walmart!

I was so excited when I found this leash. The price was great & the reviews were even better. Unfortunately, the leash stopped working after the first day of use. The ribbon gets snagged inside of the leash almost every time. Maybe mine was just defective and you will have better luck with this leash, but for now I would not recommend this item.

I bought this Sept 3, and it is used every other day with a 5lb. dog, a miniature rat terrier. Today it just snapped half in two. If we had been out walking, and she had run off, I would be furious. Since she's safe, I'm only angry that it was so poorly made.

Easy to adjust the length and good quality.

Cord is very thin and is tearing. It only lasted 2 1/2 months so I have to buy another leash that is more heavy duty. My 25 lb Boston Terrier obviously is too strong for this type. The retractable mechanism still works well, however
