This retractable dog leash is definitely does not feel the best quality, but for the price it can't be beat. It is extremely lightweight and appropriate for small dogs. I know for a fact that if I walked this on my larger dog, it would probably break as fast as all those negative reviews are saying)It is perfect for my shih tzu- even when he tugs on it, it doesn't feel like it's about to break & I have had it over 2 months. (He tried to run after a cat but the leash didn't budge when it was locked, my larger 50lb dog has broken a Kong retractable dog leash when locked by trying to run after a squirrel while on a leash)Overall, this leash does everything I have expected.Also, I do not have any issues with locking or having the ribbon/leash retract (doesn't bunch/bundle up).

The design of this dog leash is very fashionable. The locking mode is very convenient when I’m walking my dog, especially when he’s a very hyper dog. I can easily control how much length I want it to be and stay like that. My dog is very strong, but when I lock the length in, it won’t be pulled any further. The internal of this leash is composed of stainless steel parts, so even though I need to use it in the rain, it didn’t get rusty.

With 2 dogs, I wanted something less huge/heavy in my hands than typical models, and I didn't need/want something more than 10 feet long. These were cheap, so I gave them a try. I find them perfectly compact and lightweight; I can use both in one hand easily. My dogs are mid/large-sized and one pulls rather strongly, so I didn't expect his to last long -- but it surprisingly has so far the past few months. And the latch mechanism is one of the best I've seen in retractable leashes, easy to use and hardly ever gets stuck. I would gladly pay twice as much for these, and plan to gift a few to my dog-owner friends.

My bf really wanted a retractable leash for our dog so I decided to try this one. It's really simple to use and a good size for our little 15lb boy. We like using this when no other dogs are around and letting him wander a great distance but still be on leash. Locking the leash also works well for when you encounter other people or dogs and want to keep yours close to you. The only thing I don't like is the orange color trim.

Since I adopted a new dog recently, needed a new retractable leash so she can walk easily with our other dogs compared to being on the short fixed leash that she came with.Overall, I like this unit so far and seems to be well built.Only 2 things I would suggest to have changed:1. grip area needs to be stippled or coated, the plastic is glossy and smooth so it can easily pull from your hand if you do not have a good grip2. the ribbon could be another 1 or 2 feet longerOther than that, this leash has worked great with our 8 lbs Chihuahua mix*** UPDATED REVIEW ***I unfortunately have to change my rating of this product after 3 weeks of use since it was destroyed by my 8 lbs Chihuahua mix who was able to disable or damage the return system on this unit so that the cable will no longer retract.Also I found that the smooth plastic was horrible at retaining a grip as well as the grip opening was actually too small for my hands to fit (and I wear men's small sized gloves!!).** 2019 UODATE **I suggest avoiding this seller as they recently sent me a message asking me to remove my review because they apparently have made changes or updates to their product. Doing this is a violation of Amazon’s rules for sellers!!!My review still stands and I will not remove it unless I can properly re-evaluate the product in question, which if they would like I would be happy to do if they send me a free item to test!!!Otherwise I will be reporting this seller to Amazon.

I decided to get a new leash because I was having trouble with the locking mechanism of my other leash. It would always unlock itself when my dog would lunge at other dogs making it a big problem. After getting this leash, I am glad that I switched! The locking mechanism is very intuitive and I never find myself having trouble locking or unlocking the leash. It is very sturdy and is everything that I look for in a retractable leash.

This product looks really nice, but the lock just did not hold as expected. I think the weight limit should be reduced by about 10 lbs. Other than that it was very nice. I am still using it, but I have to wrap the leash around my hand after it retracts to the desired point, to manually lock it. I think it is a quality product, but just for a much smaller weighted dog. Hope this is helpful.

I'm very impressed with this leash. My favorite feature is the length of cord! A full 16 ft cord to allow fido to run around freely. The cord and mechanism reel out and back in smoothly. The full product feels and looks very high quality, feels like it, too. The weight of the handle isn't very heavy and it's distributed well. I highly recommend this product!
