Bahlsen Mini Contessa Cookies (100g)

I love these holiday treats but they're no longer available in grocery stores here. So happy to be able to get them online. They were also nice and fresh.

Terrific Christmas cooky or for anytime. Highly recommend it. If you can't go to Germany or the Alpine area for Christmas this is the next best thing. Tasty gingerbread cooky.Jim

AMENDED REVIEW: They actually aren't available year round which was a disappointment, but at least gives me something to look forward to every holiday. Dropped one star because I went in to order these again for 2019 and discovered the price had jumped $10.00 more than the price they were last year. They are currently 28.99 per box and last year I got them for $17.66. I could understand a small price jump based on demand, but not a 75% markup. I have had several other products I order also jump in price $2-3 each subsequent time I order them, so I'm taking off 2 stars for the price gouging going on here at Amazon.I used to get gingerbread cookies every year at the Grand Floridian in Orlando. I made a stop by there this year on my way to Daytona and when I finally got inside and through the long line I found out they weren't selling the gingerbread this year because they weren't able to get them from their regular supplier. I was heartbroken because that was the best gingerbread I've ever had! So I started an online search for gingerbread cookie bites and came across these cookies from Balhsen on Amazon. You can imagine my surprise when I realized they were the SAME EXACT COOKIES I had been buying from Disney for years, only I could get an entire box for $1 more than I used to pay for about 4 ounces of cookies there. I was so excited. I placed my order for two boxes right then and there while still at the Grand Floridian waiting for lunch! I like it because they are softer gingerbread and they have a wonderful flavor to them. The chocolate covered gingerbread pretzels and the gingerbread stars are the best of the bunch, but the round ones are pretty darn good too. I'm so glad I found these because I will no longer have to deal with the Disney traffic every year at Christmas time and the huge long lines inside the resort just to get my favorite cookies. I have friends who are from Switzerland and I gave them a small box this year as well and they absolutely loved them. So now, I will continue to order them online and get my money's worth and get them as often as I wish instead of once a year at Christmas!

I had bought another "type" of Lebkuchen made by Bahlsen at my local upscale supermarket in years past and thought they were Christmas-flavored heaven. These (Contessa) were less tasty and/or possibly stale.

I've been eating Pfeffernusse for 71 years now. Half German on my Mother's side. These are the best ones I've had in many years. Nice and soft inside and that cherished icing on top. One bite and you're a kid again. That bite starts the Christmas season, not Santa in front of Macy's. I've had some bad ones in the past...hard as a rock and probably made for last Christmas. I also think this price is reasonable if you're looking for a real Christmas treat. I also found the Seller on top of his orders with a quick delivery. This is the Seller you want to go to.

Fresh, genuine Bavarian Lebkuchen has been difficult to find of late. Fortunately, some of the best (from Bahlsen) was available through Amazon. (Having been stationed multiple times in Germany, one develops a tast for the real thing.). This selection didn't disappoint. In fact it was very good (especially if you like the chocolate variety). Hopefully, next year they will have the other varieties (i.e., naked, sugar frosted), too.

So stellt man sich wohlschmeckende Kleinkekse vor, aufgeschnitten und unglaublich wohlschmeckende und frische Ware mit einem angenehmen Feuchtigkeitsanteil entnehmen, das macht in einer kleinen Pause wirklich Freude!Ich hatte auf Vorrat gekauft und das nicht bereut, leider sind wir nun bei der letzten Tüte, mal schauen, ob es nachzuordern ist!
