ESV Children's Bible (Blue)

The sweetest Bible for kids. This is my daughter’s first “big kid” Bible. I love how they have the ESV text that matches my Bible, but she gets to see all the pictures that help her u destined the text better

Visually compelling and uses the actual ESV text. Inasmuch as I read and write Biblical Greek, I can say that the New Testament ESV text is a very faithful translation of the original everywhere I have examined it including a book length review of Revelation. I do not read Hebrew or Aramaic, but the translation committee of the Old Testament is a who's who of Hebrew scholars (as is the case for the New Testament committees as well). I prefer an actual translation for children's Bibles; that way, all stories are told in their entirety without all the (otherwise necessary but occasionally less than accurate) editorial one finds in other children's Bibles which at best are paraphrases. Moreover, even young children are surprisingly adept at asking amazing questions when reading from an adult text. Children deserve credit for this amazing faculty, and running into a tough word or phrase is a great way to introduce kids to a lifelong habit of inquiry, question, struggle, and resolution so necessary for critical thinking. I also am very happy with the illustrations. They are remarkably well done. (I am in the process of putting together a watercolor series for the book of Revelation, so I am sensitized to the skill on display in this Bible's illustrations.) This Bible is such a visual joy, I'm thinking of getting another copy just for myself.

Great for kids to learn about God and Jesus (this is from my 7 year old)

The pictures, although occasionally different than typical pictures you might see in a Bible, offer a tangible picture of what you might imagine. I love the art: detailed, and engaging without being distracting. It doesn't try too hard to be captivating, but is a natural draw to a child (or adult) to read God's word! Love it and can't wait to give it to my son.

Beautiful bible that we bought for our son. It is easy to read and understand and includes pictures which is a great way to keep our toddler interested and understand the content. Highly recommend.
