Best possible kick scooter
There are a couple of ways of assessing this Kickbike. If you look at it as a kick scooter, then I have to say that it's probably the best kick scooter that could ever be designed. There are only a few options in North America for adults that want a scooter. Generally, the alternatives are less rugged and have platforms that are much higher, resulting in a great deal of fatigue in the standing leg from having to crouch down to reach the ground with the other leg. The Kickbike, on the other hand, has an all-steel platform with extra steel welded to the bottom to fend off scrapes, and it hovers about as close to the ground as anyone could want to go. It does come with an alternate position for the rear axle, which requires moving the rear fender and adjusting the brakes. The second axle position is about 1.5 inches different, but the front axle only has one position, so the change in height pivots on the front axle, giving a difference in platform height less than the difference in rear axle positions. In other words, there's no practical difference between the two. I like the default position best, because it looks better, and it gives me more room to switch feet. The platform is roughly the same footprint as a men's size thirteen shoe, I think, which is narrow enough to kick comfortably without scraping the side (you'll appreciate it), and just long enough to coast downhill with both feet on the platform, pointing sideways. This particular model has medium-width tires, and one rides it in a somewhat forward-leaning position. I also bought a City G4, which has a more upright posture. The forward-leaning posture lends to increased kicking strength and speed. The large front wheel gives a smoother ride and increased stability.Like I said, it can be assessed in a couple of ways. As a scooter, it is absolutely the best that money can buy, at least in North America. People tend to look at it as a bike without pedals or a seat, though, which is erroneous. As such, it is, in fact, significantly slower than a bike ( I get passed on the bike path more often than I pass other bikes). Visually, it has that bike-like appearance, which makes it seem like an unusual bike more than a fairly normal scooter. Compared to a regular bike the Kickbike is actually a lot more fun. The standing position is more comfortable, and the kicking action involves a more natural range of motion.I initially invested in the Kickbike line because my wife has a chronic case of sciatica, and we live in a city loaded with bike paths. The best fit for her was the City G4, because it has the more upright posture, and she likes the basket for her stuff. While the Kickbike is not totally pain-free for her (most things aren't) it is still a workable solution. A regular bike simply would not work at all for her. The important thing is that she enjoys riding it, and she likes the way it looks, with its shiny white paint. Now, for the numbers. I'm a 6' 1" man, at 180 pounds. Up until now my life has been relatively sedentary. My sense of balance is well-below average, but I learned to ride proficiently in one day. On fairly level terrain my maximum speed is 16 mph, and my average speed is 9.4 mph. My max downhill speed, so far, is 21 mph. That's a thrill, by the way. I took these measurements early on, so things may have improved since then. On the first day I was absolutely winded after a mile and a half. Now, I can ride all day without stopping. The longest trip I've measured is about 19.4 miles, but I'm sure I've done a lot longer trips than that. My little wife, on the other hand, at 5' 2" has a slower cruising speed at 5.7 mph average, and 10 mph max on level terrain. Anyone reading this is sure to fall somewhere between my numbers and hers.Safety considerations include keeping in mind that the Kickbike only has three points of contact (one foot and two hands), as opposed to a regular bike, which has five. You can't take a hand from the handlebars at any time. You can't signal, wave or wipe your face while moving, or you'll get a face-full of asphalt. Also, you can't use this without all four fully-functional limbs. Also, this Kickbike can be stored well on a Delta Cycle Michelangelo Two-Bike Gravity Stand Storage Rack. It works quite well.

Heavy and slow.
Not as good as I would have liked. Heavy and slow. I am a bike rider and thought it would be faster. I had ridden my grandchildren's scooters and really enjoyed them and they were light and fast.

Nice scooter.
Quality is good and it is easy to put together. The scooter I received did not come with any directions, but they really are not complicated to assemble. It is great exercise, but I don't remember any videos of people going uphill and how difficult that is!It is fine until it gets to about a 10% grade and then gets exponentially more difficult to conquer a hill. After about 2 weeks it is a bit easier, but not much easier for the big hills. You will have to walk it up occasionally.I have a very easy to ride xooter scooter with much smaller wheels and have been scooting around for years on that, but this feels much safer with the large front tire and the front and rear brakes.UPDATE... After using this Scooter over the entire summer I really do like it more. Great exercise and safe.

Best Scotter You can buy
I have purchased 4 of these over the course of a few years...from the MFG not Amazon.com. My wife and I got the first two because we could not get a work out while the kids were on the bikes. The kids would bike and we would kickbike...great workout and tons of fun. Over the next few years the kids grew and we noticed that they were playing with our kickbikes more and more...so for their birthdays, we got them kickbikes. Now we are the coolest family in the neighborhood on our scooters. We go 4-9 miles on them a few times a week. If you want a family workout that is fun and keeps the kids engaged and "cool" this is it! By the way, the MFG quality is amazing, very professional and demonstrates some real quality...this is not a piece of junk; welds are professional and robust. This thing can take some abuse and hardships and keep coming back for more.

Fun Fun Fun
I love this bike. I originally bought this for my wife because she does not like bicycle seats and I wanted her to join the family for bike rides, but it turns out I love this and I use this more than her. It is great that anyone can jump on this and ride without making any adjustments. I turned it into and electric bike with a front hub motor kit so it can be kicked or throttled electric power up to 22mph so she can keep up no matter what the pace and there is no need to get all sweaty or change into special clothing to go out with the family. No excuses now! The front wheel needs to be angled just right for the kickstand to work and if the wind blows a little it will probably fall over so I usually just lean it against something. Good quality and fun to ride especially with the electric motor. Everywhere we go people want to look at the bike.

Very well built and a great way to cross-train
Assembly was easy. The kit comes with good instructions, all the tools you need, and even a little bottle of touch up paint. The final adjustments on the brakes took a little know how. If the bike came with the brakes already dialed in to prevent rubbing, I imagine less mechanically inclined customers would appreciate that.I purchased this bike to add another dimension to my training for cycling; to get better hamstring/calf workouts and to increase flexibility/range of motion in my hips and legs. I can already tell that is it is working. I am also very surprised how good a cardio workout you can get on it if you want. I'm glad I bought this.

Yeah this is awesome!
I love my sport G4 kickbike... I just push my foot back and it glides. I'm a 260lb/ 6'1" tall man and the size is perfect. Worked with customer service both before and after making my purchase and the service provided was also 5 stars. Highly recommended for either high paced action or a lazy cruise.
