We absolutely love this book! The story and illustrations are beautiful! My daughter pointed to the main character then pointed to herself. She finally has a book where the little girl looks like her. Thank you Vanessa Williams!

Of course, bought it because of Vanessa...followed you for decades with all of your singing and acting, so also had to get this one. Nice simple story of more love needed and nice to hear her upbeat song with CD included. Am sure our granddaughter will like as well.

love the book, it looks like a rich person book. The book is easy and fun to read to your children, this book is for parents that don't like to read children book but are forced to because they love their children. Also, the color doesn't look cheap, meaning it doesn't look like another cheap African American illustration book that looks like it was made in the '60s. it is a beautiful book.

My two daughters (ages 2 yo and 5 yo) love this book! The illustrations are beautiful and the story is so cute! The song that accompanies it (either via a scan code online or the CD that comes with the book) is a cute catchy tune too that my girls can’t get enough of. The only downside I can think of with this book is that I probably should’ve bought two because they are both always fighting over the one copy we have !

The song may be nice, but if you’re looking for a good read aloud, this book doesn’t get the job done. There is nothing special about the rhyme scheme, no special language attention grabbers ( alliteration, etc.). The illustrations are adorable and tell the story better than the words. That is why I have it two stars, for the illustrations.

I absolutely agree with A Ayers Smith Review! The illustrations are OMG AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS but the STORY???? It’s TRASH. Reading it aloud is painful. It doesn’t rhyme, it repeats itself but not in a good way. I can’t even make it to listening to the CD because I hate it too much. That’s a strong word but my husband and I both hate it. We’ve decided to just tell the story of what’s going on in the illustrations...which have nothing to do with the words LOL. The publisher should have made her rewrite it.

My granddaughter loves this book! It is colorful and melodic! It also has a child who looks like her! She enjoys singing along with the CD! Thank you!

This is such a cute book and perfect Christmas gift for the little girl in your life.

I bought this for my granddaughter because she loves mermaids. It was a bit confusing though. It was a mix between a song and a story. Beautiful illustrations but not the best read aloud.
