Perfect fit if stuck with 1-1/2” drain instead of 2” thats standard with Oates shower drain.
The media could not be loaded. Trying to adapt a 2” shower drain to an existing 1-1/2” tub drain can be impossible if you can’t get at it from the basement or crawl space. This rubber seal made the task much easier. To further help with installation I lubricated the outside and inside of the seal with a little liquid soap and water. This allowed the seal to slip over the pipe and inside the drain while compressing the seal ring for a snug, leakproof connection.FYI, I called Oatey tech support to find out the composition of the rubber. I'm interested in the longevity of the rubber and I found that it is NBR, Nitrile Butadiene also known as Buna-N. It's used in the automotive and aeronautical industry to make fuel and oil handling hoses, seals, grommets, and self-sealing fuel tanks. It is used in the nuclear industry to make protective gloves. NBR's stability at temperatures from −40 to 108 °C (−40 to 226 °F) makes it an ideal material for aeronautical applications.

been looking for gasket for 1.5 inch pipe which is minimal code for shower/tub drain in Ontario !!! Had a few no it alls tell me different !!! LOL Hard too find because most use 2 inch , Fit Great !!! havent hooked water too it yet tho Coming Soon !

Items is perfectly fine. It is as described but by mistake I ordered this as I need 2" seal not 1- 1/2 inch. I think I should contact for return or replacement if they have 2" seal.

Sorry this did not work on 1 1/2 ABS pipe I/D was too large and would not seal against the drain pipe.
