Umineko WHEN THEY CRY Episode 2: Turn of the Golden Witch Vol. 1 Kindle & comiXology

Fantastic series, by the greatest author of all time. Ryukishi07 (author of Higurashi and Umineko) writes the manga adaptations of his visual novels and they turn out great. I prefer the manga versions of his works to the visual novels and anime.

I love Umineko! The real conflict starts with Battler and Beatrice fighting over the existence of witches while the events of Rokkenjima start over with a new game. The usual chess pieces being the guests and servants, but this time we get to see a part of Kanon's relationship with Jessica and Shannon's relationship with George. I can't tell you how much I love Ryukishi07's writing and how well he does it by pouring so much emotion into the characters that they're 3-Dimensional as if they're actual people and not fictional characters. And oh my god! The art! I love the art! I had my doubts on it at first since the artist for the first episode is my favorite, but it's really beautiful in it's own way. I love the way Maria looks in some scenes where she looks so pretty in a childish way c: Anyways if you loved the first episode(Volumes 1 & 2) and want to know more I strongly suggest you check out this one as well. I strongly believe you won't regret it :D And also we are introduced to new methods of debate the main characters use to support their argument that make the plot even more epic!

Più vado avanti nella lettura di questa storia, più mi chiedo come sia possibile che Umineko sia così poco conosciuto...è un capolavoro, e come tale dovrebbe avere molto più successo di quanto purtroppo ne abbia.Certo che la storia non è per tutti...i più potrebbero lasciarsi scoraggiare da quanto sia complessa, con tutte le metafore e diversi livelli di lettura che ci sono, però proprio la sua complessità per me è un valore aggiunto.Penso al discorso che fa Kanon a Jessica, sul fatto di essere "un accessorio, un pezzo d'arredamento" (furniture in inglese), penso a come mi lasciò perplessa questo discorso nell'anime, mentre rileggendolo ora sapendo cosa c'è dietro è talmente struggente da stringere il cuore. Ma in realtà ogni frase ha in sè un doppio significato, e solo cogliendone appieno il senso si può cogliere la bellezza di quest'opera.Quello che invece non mi ha lasciato soddisfatta in questo secondo episodio è la scelta dell'illustratore: Jiro Suzuki, purtroppo, non è stata la scelta migliore; fosse stato per me, avrei adoperato Kei Natsume per tutti gli episodi, perchè nel primo mi ha colpito tantissimo il modo in cui ha saputo ritrarre alla perfezione ciascun personaggio, in ogni sua sfumatura, cosa in cui Suzuki invece si dimostra appena sufficiente, a mio avviso (riesce al meglio a rappresentare le situazioni comiche, le gag, i visi moe, ma per il resto lascia parecchio a desiderare).Sul servizio Amazon, una piccola nota dolente, in quanto questo volume aveva la copertina abbastanza stropicciata e ammaccata. Purtroppo non sempre arrivano in condizioni perfette e per chi è collezionista come la sottoscritta la cosa non è molto piacevole.

Umineko ist mit all seinen Lektionen so viel mehr als eine einfache Geschichte. Es sind so viele Weisheiten versteckt, die einem im Leben weiterhelfen. Allerdings wird wohl der "einfache" Leser nicht im Stande sein, solche Feinheiten zu entdecken.Mit "Turn of the Golden Witch" fängt Umineko jetzt richtig an. Man bekommt mehr Informationen über gewisse Charaktere, so dass man sich mehr und mehr in einige Personen hineindenken kann. Natürlich wird es auch zunehmend spannender aber dafür wird es immer schwerer zu verstehen, was da eigentlich vor sich geht. In der Visual Novel steht nicht ohne Grund, dass "Turn of the Golden Witch" die Schwierigkeit "first-rate" besitzt.(Btw, es macht keinen Sinn einem Produkt 2/5 zu geben, nur weil der Versand nicht zufriedenstellend war. Man soll das Produkt bewerten und nicht den Versand. Solche unnötigen Aktionen schrecken andere Leser grundlos ab.)
