Yes, in my experience, the Alpine Ecoquest has been most effective at rapidly killing off mold and mildew in my crawl space rendering an odorless air quality. Since it generates ozone, I only run it when I am not in the house; otherwise, I experience headaches, etc.

how to oil the fan motor on Model XL?

The fan motor doesn't have any oil ports, and I've never oiled any. I suppose you could some oil by the bearings and on the shaft.
