Amazing Quality & Value
I am so impressed with the quality of the fabric and the stitching. So glad I bought this, I would never have been able to purchase the fabric, to make it myself, for the price I paid here. It looks amazing and fits perfectly. I love the length and the size of the hood. It can be used for so many different costumes; Grim Reaper, Witch, Vampire, Monk, Star Wars characters, and will work great on both male and female bodies.

EXCELLENT costume-robe; BELIEVE the size-chart!
I typically wear a men's 3X shirts because I like a loose fit, and so haven't bought a Large in decadesโand was very skeptical of the sizing chart for this. The advice of the provided chart, and of so many reviewers, was VERY helpful. Specifically, I am 5'6" tall, 230lbs, and the Large was, indeed, the perfect length for me; the hem of the robe brushes the tops of my feet exactly like I hoped it would, and the hem of the sleeves brush my knuckles exactly like I hoped they would; as expected, it's not as loose in the middle as I would like, but I'm pleasantly surprised that it does at least fully close in front without a humiliating struggle. I simply like clothes to have an oversized fit; and of course aspire to just fit cloths better, in general. And yes, the material is surprisingly heavy-duty for $12. It feels and looks similar to suit fabric, similar to a favorite kind that I used to buy off the bolt at Jo~Ann's fabric stores for about $7/yd, though I forget by which name it was marketed. Definately polyester, of course, not wool or cotton, but GOOD polyester that seems resistant to both snags and wrinkles, as well as DEFINATELY MATTE textured, NOT shiny. Now for a lore rant. :) Proceed at your own risk of boredom. It's only June and I'm already looking ahead to Halloween plans with some friends, however there's a secondary, much goofier purpose for this robeโand that is adapting my old Kenjutsu training to a new lightsaber-dueling hobby. Wow, that wasn't a thing when I was a kid; with due sympathy for the embarrassment that poor, completely relatable lad suffered, all my generation had was a deeply embedded fear of being the next Star Wars Kid. IMPO, he didn't need counselingโhe needed real martial-arts lessons, to have made a glorious comeback as a bonafide BA. Come on, y'allโit's just twirling sticks, not MacGuyvering hyperdrive-motivators. Stop being intimidated. Life's too short to feel embarrassed for the rest of your life because you bonked yourself with a stick. "If he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat." ๐ Of course I grew up with "Star Wars", but somehow the whole 'sci-fi dojo vibe' completely slipped past me until I encountered the Cal Kestis game series just last December. The "Star Wars" marketing crew really overlooked gold, for whole generationsโI guess because it was administratively pre-determined that the Jedi Order was in the wrong, and that Anakin went down the jerk-path of means but was technically correct that the order had to end. Who still wants to play a Jedi already being told from the start that their character cannot embody monastic-warrior virtues, because the Light Side of the universe is fundamentally arrogant, and that Order 66 was actually justified even if its execution was ugly? The twist is that George Lucas himself was always in on this perspective, and IMO THAT'S why the late-stage "Star Wars" IP floundered. By accident, it seems, "Fallen Order" (etc) let-slip the way the Jedi Order ought to have been appreciated all along. Or, maybe, it's just the IRL Templar, Teutonic, & Reformation history I happened to be in the midst of reading at the time I played it, which gave the "Star Wars" universe a shocking 1:1 historical-reference for context. Without the laser-swords, of course, but even including telekinesis according to some Medieval soruces. Notably: the Medieval sources upon which the Jedi robes were based, including but not limited to the Franciscan Order of Spanish monks who were local, familiar IRL archetypes in 16th thru 20th Century California, near Hollywood. Any writer who wanted to take the fictional Jedi seriosuly needed only to pay a respectful visit to real, operational historical missions & monestaries in the geographical regions surrounding where these first "Star Wars" films were being madeโa mere day's drive. As for me, I already had a treasured pile of traditional Japanese training swords and even a small pile of kimono/gi which I'd made myself a long time agoโnow, merely the latest "sword" additions glow, and adding a cheap 'Space-kimono' to the collection was obviously the next level of escalation. It would delight me to mix "Star Wars" lore & historical events, at least in the words of their contemporary sourcesโand just let friends guess which well I'm drawing from. George Lucas may be the lord of lore, but Eastern "Bushido" & Western-monastic "Just-War" Theory are the open-source IRL proverbial-soil he planted his private lore-tree in. And there's no reason cosplay can't be educational as heck; IMO the real success of "Star Wars" was based in its vast cultural-resonace due to these borrowed story-elements, rather than to its romantic tensions and ever-graying pseudophilosophies that deliberately defied their historical roots as writing-material. Shop nerd robes, meet nerds. ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ I hope you've enjoyed this detour. May the Force... inspire you. EDIT: I watched "Episodes I - VI" again with a friend who's NEVER seen them, and noted hust HOW long Ani's, Obi's, & Quigon's outer-robes actually are, so I just purchaided a second one that's a size larger, an XL, which fits well ALSO. The XL version fully covers my hands and just barely, gracefully caresses the floor with its hem. DEFINATELY my prefered size, between the two, even though both clearly fit well. Iguess I just have a spare robe now, in case I take a padawan or something.

Great Robe.
This robe is great for Halloween and Cosplay. It's great for a wide variety of costumes - Demon, Sorcerer/Wizard, Sith, etc. It's also a great fit. It gets 4 stars because there isn't a way to hold the front closed. I had to add stick on Velcro for that.

Impressive for $12.99
I intentionally bought a size normally too large for me, xxl, hoping for a loose fit. I am 6 feet tall and the length is a perfect hair above floor length. The material is clearly polyester but it is not extremely thin; I can imagine cheap polyester slacks or work shirts being made of this material. The construction and stitching have no issues. At $12.99, I would buy again.

How is this so good for the price!?
Ok seriously, the difference in this robe and the one I bought first (and am returning) is like night and day and for only a $2 price difference!? Itโs hard to believe. First off, letโs talk about the first robe I purchased from a different seller. The first one came in something like a quart-sized ziptop style bag and I was already concerned because I knew it had to be thin. It got worse. Not only was it paper thin (it weighed ounces), it was super shiny and the stitches were ugly. However, all of that being said, for what I paid, (around $13) it was what I was expecting and actually still a decent cheap robe- until I bought this oneโฆ For only $2 more - THIS robe arrived in a box - because it would absolutely not fit in an ziptop bag. The material, while still costume quality, FAR exceeds the quality of the first robe. This one weighs what you would expect an actual robe made of yards of material, to weigh. The next difference I noticed was the hood. This hood is lined so the fabric is doubled on the hood which gives it a much better look and fit because itโs weighty and lies nicely on the head. Last, and probably most importantly, the actual fabric itself. It would cost twice the selling price of this robe to buy the materials at a fabric store to make this robe yourself (Which I also considered) so donโt bother. Just buy this one. Iโm just blown away by the difference of quality in these 2 items. I just looked for robes like this at a popular Halloween store and comparing quality, I would guess a robe of this quality would be considered their โpremiumโ robe and would be at least $40 (if that helps). The other one would have been the cheapest department store robe at best. Iโve included some side by side photos of the 2 robes. Pay the extra $2! For size reference, I wanted it to be a little fitted on my husband. He is about 200lbs, 6โ in shoes (roughly). I bought a large and he says itโs comfortable. It falls right around the ground I believe. (I canโt remember because I am cutting off some of the bottom for his particular costume so I did not pay close attention to the length.)

Quite nice for the price.
I was nervous about the item I might get due to mixed reviews, I did get the uniform materials version which was a relief, but the material is still a bit thin. It's okay, I'm using it for a pattern anyway and then will alter it for a festival robe. The XXL size is very big, sleeves are easily 6" beyond my finger tips, hood is proportinally large, and the length was about 10" too long but I am only 5'8" ~175lbs and plan to wear this over steel armor after alterations. Well worth the cost for me. It did arrive late, but it is what it is... There is no closure, so you will need to add one or use a belt or rope to tie it. Overall, it will function as it should! And the fabric, again, is quality - but sort of thin.
