Entourage: The Movie

Outstanding! This was like an awesome episode of "Entourage!"
Where do I begin? This movie was awesome. "Entourage" is my favorite TV show of all time. I was heavily predisposed to like this movie, but don't get me wrong: I would have given this two stars if it really sucked.Boy, I have no idea how this movie bombed at the box office, or got any negative reviews (from anyone who loved the show). What is the movie? Well, it is an adaptation of the TV show "Entourage," in which movie actor Vincent Chase tries to get famous, and to succeed in Hollywood. Along for the ride is his "entourage:" the gang of guys he grew up with in Queens, NY. These are the guys who truly love him, and actually care for him. Success in Hollywood is the icing on the cake, but the true male friendship that he has with his entourage is the real happiness in his life. That doesn't stop him from shagging groupies, or piling up cash, exotic cars, and mansions. The animal side of him chases the fame, while his friends bring him the true, grounded happiness in a town where there are no real friends, and everything is cutthroat business. This particular movie's main theme is that Vincent's fire-breathing agent, Ari Gold has been promoted to studio head, and has given Vinny his own movie to direct and star in. The financiers from Texas are pounding the desk as the movie has gone over budget. They send their spoiled brat son (Haley Joel Osment) out to Hollywood to confront the movie making team, and egos clash. This movie is interesting, as there are several minor plots that go along with the main plot. Haley Joel Osment gives the best performance of the movie as the loose cannon wayward son that might ruin everything. Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) is near to his best, as writer/director Doug Ellin has written him some great dialogue. It should be noted that the movie goes a little too hard on Texas, as some of the insults towards it border on bigoted and intolerant. On the whole, though, the dialogue is legitimately funny, and this would rank as one of the better episodes of "Entourage" if it were part of the series. A minor complaint is that a couple of the instances in the movie verged on being a little too contrived, but just barely. Also, you could see that Doug Ellin is used to writing 30 minute TV episodes, because, as this movie exceeded 30 minutes, Ellin just kept stacking up more plot lines, as if he were just piling up three episodes on top of each other. A better tactic would have been to have one or two plot lines that just took longer to develop. These are minor complaints, though, and just add up to subtracting one star. On the whole, this movie is excellent, and I think they did a good job at bringing people who had never seen the show up to speed, so I think anyone would like it, but fans of the show will love it.

Left me wanting more...and that's good.
I started watching Entourage when it was in it's fourth season on HBO. I didn't want to like it when I first heard the premise for the show. Regardless I caved and binge watched the first season on DVD. I was hooked just a few episodes in an quickly found myself caught up and awaiting new episodes on HBO. As with many shows the series started to reach and felt as though the series had surpassed it's life, the end was near but I still found it entertaining and tuned in. The final season felt rushed and unrealistic and truthfully left me disappointed, feeling as if story lines ended with a fairy tale ending. Then again I don't live a Hollywood lifestyle so maybe fairy tale endings like the ones in the show do happen.A although I tend to re-watch the series at least once a year (thank you amazon for recently adding the entire series to prime), for me the movie was a redemption and it left me wanting more. Even with how the series ended this movie had me wishing the series would come back for more. I actually felt sad when I hit pause to step away and saw that only ten minutes were left.If you have not watched the series you will not appreciate the movie because you do need to have some background into each of the characters. There are many things that only an avid fan will get as some of the jokes relate to situations the characters encountered throughout the series. I think that first timers will enjoy the movie but you will enjoy it more if you have watched the series. My selfish hope is to drive sales up so HBO considers a sequel. I don't work for amazon but as I mentioned all episodes are on prime so sign up and binge watch.Even though I purchased the digital version I plan to pre order on blub-day closer to the release date."VICTORY"

Great Entertainment and a Continuation of the HBO Series
This is the culmination of the HBO series, which was released in 2015. It continues the story of Vince and his friends (the 'Entourage') and his ascent to stardom. It is filled with celebrity cameos and has a great plot, which is that Vince is dating a beautiful starlet and starting a new movie project, financed by Texas oil money. Ari runs the studio, wants Vince on the movie, but the son of the Texas oilman doesn't. The plot is believable and filled with funny anecdotes and tangent storylines among the other members of the 'Entourage'. The ending is sweet, and finally answers the question of whether E & Sloan will be together as a couple. Highly recommended if you enjoyed the HBO series.

Enjoy it for what it is
If you go into this movie simply for another chance to watch the boys after missing the tv show. You’ll be happy. Just as funny, ridiculous and charming as ever.

A perfect ending to one of the best shows ever made
The writing, acting, and directing were superb. Just like the show, it'll make you wish you lived in Hollywood and were part of the gang. Thank you, Doug Ellin, for writing one of the best, most unforgettable shows ever made.VICTORY!

Film consigliato, dvd meno

The ride ain't over.
