Bird & Squirrel On the Edge!: A Graphic Novel (Bird & Squirrel #3)

This series is just what we needed to get our hands on for our then 7 year old. I was struggling on how to keep my son engaged in a book and interested. This clever and funny series totally roped him in. The optimistic care free bird and practical worrying squirrel. It's a graphic novel style and naturally we had to get all 5. My son even wanted to know if there would be a 6th coming out so we looked it up and he's super excited for book six in 2020. I'm glad this series sparked some reading interest for him.For those parents that are dedicated to reading with their kid it has some sarcastic humor for the adults too. Great books!

This is a wonderful book for reluctant readers. The story is about a Bird and Squirrel odd couple and their miss adventures. Very cute and funny.Our local library, book mobile, suggested the first book to my son. He has a learning disability and is be low grade level for reading comprehension. I am more than happy to get him books that he will read. When he finds a book he likes he will read it many times over, which is good for comprehension and fluency. This series is graphic novel style. I have bought the all 4 books. My son has read them over and over. They are still some of his favorites.

My kids (boys) really enjoy graphic novels. This series is definitely one of our favorites! (I like reading it too :)We love Bird's happy-go-lucky personality and Squirrel's uptight accountant personality and the way that plays out when they're out adventuring together. We love the humorous and creative storyline- it's especially nice that there's no crude stuff.We have all 4 books in the Bird & Squirrel series and my 10 year old regularly re-reads through all of them- which is saying something because he doesn't really like reading. Buy them- you won't regret it!!Thank you so much James Burks! Please keep them coming!

My 8 yr old can't stop reading these books and LOVES everyone. Good mix of vocabulary, fun stories, and great drawings to add plenty of excitement to reading time. Bird & Squirrel are hilarious and their adventures are action-packed. He has re-read a couple of these at least 3 times, which is always a sign of a good book!

My seven-year-old DEVOURED the Bird & Squirrel books - the first can't-put-it-down books for him- and this is his favorite of the series. They are clever, gorgeously colorful, humorous, and just plain fun!! My 8 year old nephew who has been struggling with reading and never wanted to read for pleasure absolutely LOVES these. They are perfect for the stubborn boy reader. Well done, funny. And he loves the comic book style. It allows him to feel like he's making progress quickly rather than staring with dejection at a long page of words.

My children 8 and 9 year olds love these books and have re-read them dozens of times!
