Good idea, not durable at all
I bought 6 of these to use in measuring the temperature of liquids in my science classes. They seemed like an economical alternative to the expensive computerized probes.When I first opened them, 1 didn't work, 2 were irreversably set on celsius (the toggle switch did nothing), and the other 3 were fine. After a week, 3 are broken entirely, and I am disappointed.

It was great....until it suddenly died without warning or just cause.
Well it worked 5 star perfectly for approximately a year and 3/4's, before it died for no apparent reason. It was not used often and mainly was stuck to the cabinet hanging around doing nothing in the kitchen. And when it infrequently was used, it was always with normal care and careful washing of probe only, after each use. Checked the batteries, changed the batteries, nothing...no response to pushing any buttons, or moving the probe open and shut, the screen stayed off and that was that, It has never been dropped or handled roughly, and even looks brand new still. According to the ad the seller states this digital thermometer boasts of a "No RISK: Lifetime Warranty"......so I will be contacting the seller and then update here to let y'all know how they handle this suicidal thermometer. Hoping for a replacement, we shall see.U[DATE 9/2/17 - multiple messages to seller, all ignored. "Warranty" is a blatant LIE !!! Amazon promised a refund - still waiting, NOT a happy customer.

DO NOT BUY THIS ! I WAS TEMPTED WITH THE LOW PRICE AND BOUGHT TWO. ONE DID NOT WORK AT ALL. THE OTHER READS INACCURATE TEMPERATURES !
