Great little device
Its pocket sized and does the job tremendously well. I recommend keeping it plugged into power, but apparently it has 6 hours of battery life without power. It uses the large sim card variant, but if you buy a sim card you should get that anyway. It also uses the old mobile charger, not USB-C, but the device comes with a charging cable. The device name and login details are available on the device itself, accessed using only two buttons: the menu button to access the menu, and the power button to select options. Using these details, you can connect your computer and access the IP address to change additional settings on the device, much like a router. I recommend turning off sleep mode this, as the device defaults to turning off after 10 minutes of no use.To get a new sim card running, you may need to do what I did: plug your sim card into your phone first, set it up with the configuration message you get from your sim provider, then you can remove it from your phone and put it into this MiFi device. Works a charm.Simple, straight forward, does the job.

Not dual band
Returned because it is not dual band as stated in the product listing. It is single band 2.4Ghz. Found out only after I got it and couldn’t change to 5Ghz. Couldn’t increase the wifi speed no matter how much I toyed with the settings (was on 4G Three network through Smarty), limited channels available (6-11), would only ever get an average 7-8Mbps down but a whopping 20Mbps up. Not adequate speeds for home use - I suggest you shell out a extra £50 and get yourself a proper Cat 7 Huawei dual band router which is what I did and now my Internet speeds are up to 30Mbps download. Despite all that, it worked well for what it is made for (ie. cheap internet on the go shared between multiple devices) and actual device was good to use with respect to ease in setting up, easy to change settings Huawei AI life app, digital screen tells you how many devices connected and how much data has passed through and can display QR code for easy connection to the wifi device. For that I’ll leave review at 4 stars even though it didn’t suit my needs.

Mobile Wifi Hotspot
This was bought for using at home for my broadband instead of the usual telephone plus broadband service. It was not the easiest thing to set up, the instructions were not good. But I find that anything that comes from China is the same. But now I have got it working properly it works great. The speed is good, and I can watch catch up TV on the internet without a problem. The only issue is the battery. I bought this as it said it lasted 6 hours. But I was finding that this depends on your usage. If you set your programs to update automatically it runs the battery down, even if you are not using it. Also, it was set up to switch off when it was not being used for any length of time. I had to disable this function as I had to keep switching it on when I did want to use it. This was a pain. I can understand why it was set up this way. But it was no good for my type of usage. I found an updated app and downloaded it. I could set it up better using this. I have got it plugged into the USB point permanently to keep the battery at 100%.

Not up to much
I thought I needed one of these. It's a portable wifi dongle, so if you're out and about you should be able to connect to the internet. It is completely dependent on a 4g or 5g signal being available, it's no better than an iphone really. If there's no signal it wont work, just the same as a phone. If there is a signal it will work quite well. If you have a decent data package with your phone then you don't need one of these. It's quite good to use if you go abroad but depends if your phone company allow free roaming or not, if they do then you don't need this. I was overall disappointed with it's performance, like I say it's dependent on a signal just like your smart phone. Anyway after about 5 months it no longer holds a charge so that was my excuse to get rid of it, sent back for a refund. Couldn't really recommend this item to others.

Good Mifi Device - Could be better for the price !
Overall a great product and met my expectations but lost two stars due to short battery life which is at max 3-4 hours on continuous use. Afterall Mifi is supposed to give you a decent online time when you are out and about !Pros :---------Small, thin, lightweight-Supports both 2.4 and 5GHz Wifi (Only one at a time)-Picks up APN settings automatically-Range is OK ish-Fast internet speed, Data Usage is shown on the front screen which is quite handy-Front screen shows signal strength, unread SMS messages etcCons:----------Low battery life - 3-4 hours max !-Sometimes the connection drops for no good reason. Huawei customer support is almost non existent-5GHz Wifi taks time to start-The Wifi Password is shown on the front screen - There is no way to shut it off !

Great device
Although you need a bit of knowledge to setup, it's pretty easy for anyone who could set up a normal router. Great 4G signal (I didn't need any extra antenna). Massive wifi range. I've had 10 devices connected without problems. Much better than the carrier's options which are locked to their network. The app is easy enough and lets you check the data at any time and block devices that are sucking up your connection. The battery lasted hours even in a party scenario with everyone playing via the Wifi, and it's tiny and easy to take on the move. I turned off the auto-wifi-power-saving so it's always on (you can manage some options via the device itself, some only via the app, and some only via the internal web interface - maybe that's why people can't find the right options).I used it via giffgaff temporarily, and then Three for the greater data allowance, and it's been flawless. I don't have to worry where the box is, and guests have picked up the wifi both upstairs and quite a way outside without having to move anything. The only concern - it does show the wireless network name and password in plaintext on the front screen, in case that's an issue.
