Coal Women's The Julietta Soft Fine-Knit Slouchy Beanie

As indicated in the headline, I never, ever, ever...write reviews. I do however buy a stupid ammount of essentially the same hat....that being a black, dark grey, or.. if I am feeling super-extra at the time, a black and/or dark grey striped slouchy beanie. I believe that I likely have bought most of the top Amazon rated recommendations for this style beanie...and every one of those past purchases can be described in one of two ways--a total fail, or, close but just not close enough. Sooooooo so so so many beanies, all so close, but either has a funky knit that feels funny, or worse, a crappy knit that itches, and almost universally not slouchy enough. I have a large melon for a girl, but not large compared to most guys. I do have super thick, like weirdly-thick hair, but still--any hat advertised specifically as being "oversized" or "slouchy" should be oversized or slouchy on my head. I had pretty much given up my never ending search for a truly slouchy lid that is knit with a material that I would actually want to wear. I mean I have purchased everything from 10 dollar amazon hats, to stupidly-priced big name brands in the outdoor tech softgoods market, Patagucci, The South Butt etc...and all offerings inbeween. I have even hand knit AND hand crochet my own "perfect slouchy beanie". I have gotten SO close, but never had full 100% "This Is It, this is the one" satisfaction. Until today...when I saw the familiar white plastic postal-package-envelope-thingy. Now, in the spirit of full transparency ....I would love it all the more if it were more slouchy, but I think my slouchy beanie expectations are all out of whack for life now. But seriously now. This hat is both 1) slouchy on my head, and, 2) knit with some voodoo-magic synthetic yarn that has all the softness of a cashmere wool with zero itch factor and zero catches-on-your-dry-fingertips-in-a-weird-way that makes it unbearable. Until I purchase or am gifted with another one, *cough*, this is now my daily driver. OH! And.....you get a guitar pick!! Actually, a guitar pick-shaped piece of plastic that serves as the usual little round plastic doo-dad that prevents the hang tag from pulling thru the knit fabric. Not so much a usable guitar pick but on a scale of zero being a plastic bread tag and ten being a dunlop tortex heavy pick its a 4 maybe? Also worthy of note, I ordered this hat on Oct 6th and it arrived this morning on Oct 11th. I actually had ordered another Coal beanie on Oct 3rd that has yet to arrive, so there's that. Over and out.

My second favorite beanie. I love how they fit. I am replacing my first one after 2 years of a lot of use.My favorite beanies are Neff; because I live in a place where it gets really cold and the neff ones are thicker and cover my ears and head better. However Neff looses their shape and can get strings pulled or loose.I like Coal beanies for the material, and fit. It’s tightly woven and doesn’t get any threads pulled like the Neff ones. The fit and style is more feminine, but also less functional in that way. This is pretty thin and doesn’t cover your ears that great. It is super cute and good quality. It hasn’t even lost its shape, I’m getting another because it started to get those little balls of lint. If you’re looking for a winter beanie; get another. If it’s for style and comfort get it!!

I personally dislike wearing hats - they never seem to fit me right or look good. But I needed to keep my ears warm and this hat was on "Today's Deals" so I gave it a shot.The material is incredibly soft and pliable, which gives you the perfect amount of slouch without being too much. I wore this hat all day and didn't get overheated (even indoors) nor did my head get itchy (often happens when I wear beanie-type hats). Although it does give you hat-hair, it won't make your hair super frizzy or static-y when you take it off. Perhaps it's the shape of my head, but I find that it will slide back after a while; I have really soft hair though, so that is more likely the reason.Overall, I absolutely love this hat and now wear it anytime it's slightly chilly or my hair is weird or when I want to look a little hipster.

This is a replacement beanie for the same one I’ve used for years. These beanies are warm and don’t mess up your hair! They look adorable too.

Soft and comfortable plus very warm too. I like hats that are not itchy such as 100% wool ones can me but these are nice and soft but warm.Plus it is calming pleasant color. I do not know but since one must wear hats in the winter you might as well have warm comfy ones and these fit that bill!

These are beautiful basic beanies that will go with everything and they certainly offer a lot of colors. We bought them in the red, blue and evergreen colors. They are all vibrant jewel tones but the evergreen is my favorite and the one my daughters fight over. The beanies fit well, haven't snagged and have seen lots of action and activity from being worn running to being worn to sleep. These were purchased on sale but they are certainly worth the regular price. Don't hesitate to order.

BUY THIS! I want one in every color. I dress it up or down, it’s so soft and not scratchy like some beanies, fits perfect with a little bit of a slouchy look but not so much that it’s falling off your head. Definitely purchasing again.

I've got a large head, apparently. Most so-called slouchy knit hats, do not slouch on me what so ever. It was made well, the knitting was well done. Feels as though it would be warm. Just didn't work for me. Deep cranberry color. Overall, nice, just not for my noggin.

This hat is absolute f'n heaven, from the fit/slouch (I have an average-sized/-shaped ladyhead), to the material (both beautiful and warm), to the quality of its manufacturing. It even comes out beautifully after a roll through the washer and dryer, which I wasn't really expecting. I've already purchased a 2nd one in Evergreen (so gorgeous), and will definitely be buying more before winter comes back, like the real friggen D-head it is.

Ordered a couple. One for me , one for my boyfriend both fit great.
