Exactly as advertised!
Just to be clear, my drive came from DBSKY.inc. and was their PN D01-0808. I see that this review has been posted to at least one other seller's listing so be careful who you are ordering from! This drive arrived very quickly and in good condition. This is a new HGST 4TB drive exactly like the other two in my 4 bay NAS. I was concerned that it might actually be a reconditioned drive but it is not. Just what I needed!

Warning-Buyer Beware: Fake, Fraud, Misrepresentation, Scam -- not what is pictured, not new
What you see in the picture is a brand new in the bag HGST drive - note under the top left model number is a bar code with a part number. Also note that there is a manufacturing date in the top right of the label. That is not what you will receive when you order these drives - you get some used/refurbished/parameter reset drive with a brand new label that DOES NOT HAVE a manufacturing date in the top right corner and DOES NOT HAVE a Part number (P/N) listed under the bar code.If you make the assumption that the drive is new, since the picture is a new drive YOU ARE WRONG, JUST LIKE I WAS WRONG. I call this bait and switch a FRAUD AND YOU ARE NOT ALERTED BY THE DESCRIPTION THE TRUE NATURE OF THIS PURCHASE. The description very carefully never says new, but also never reveals that the drive is used/refurbished. Picture is correct - new drive, but that is not what you are getting.I bought 5 of these drives - 2 will not even spin up/recognized by my QNAP NAS and are being exchanged as I type. 1 of the remaining three has already logged smart errors (reallocated sectors) and I will have to exchange that one as well via Amazon 30 day return policy.Be aware that the 5 year warranty (on the card you get inside the drive) is from the vendor not from Hitachi. I have Hitachi drives that have been running for over 10 years and are still going strong, you are getting old drives that have a 5 year warranty by some vendor in the hopes that they don't fail/develope errors during the warranty period. Odds are you will never get much more than 5 years from an already old drive that is not new.

Excellent value for this capacity HDD, plus a 5 year warranty.
I am using these as replacement drives in my Synology DS418 NAS. Originally bought these same HGST branded drives, but with only a three-year warranty. Just had two of them fail within a month of each other after four years.

Refurbished or remanufactured
As soon as I received it I was concerned that I received something that wasn't new. The drive came repackaged from a third party. After looking at the label, I realized data fields were removed from original label. I could see Hitachi name was removed along with Pn and manufacturing date. This product is being sold as an HGST drive but it is not as OEM markings have been removed. Rather it's a used HGST drive being resold. My drive was manufactured 9 years ago! I'm sorry, I can't take chances with my data on a drive that is older than most millineals!

Quiet, Fast, Works Well
The drive was purchased to replace a 12 year old Hitachi drive in an external enclosure. It arrived quickly, came well packaged as an OEM drive, and installed easily. It does run a bit hotter than expected. It performs well and made it through full formatting, content restoration, and a full system backup without failure. So far, so good.
