Sandwich Making Set Kaplan Early Learning Dramatic Play with White and Wheat Bread

I was always jealous of the lucky kid who had these in their play kitchen, and now almost thirty years later I....eer....I mean my kids, finally have them :)We assembled them as sandwiches and “wrapped” them in sandwich bags for Christmas. Kids always prefer the play food that looks and feels the most realistic, yet all I find out there is the fabric and wooden food. Cute, but not nearly as fun to play with. I know my kids will loves these, and one day their kids. Because let’s be honest, these toys will always be a classic!The only complaint I have is that there really should be one more peanut butter and jelly (the kids are going to fight over that one) and less wheat bread and more white.

This has such good reviews, and it is a very nice set ~ as play foods go. The "wheat" bread is very nice, as are the tomatoes and the peanut butter & jelly. The other pieces are only okay. There are only three pieces of lunch meat to go with the other items to make 4 non-PB&J sandwiches.I had recently bought the Constructive Playthings BBQ foods set, and I really think it's wonderful. The lettuce and cheese slices in that set are higher quality than those in this set, (though the lettuce appears to have been made from basically the same mold).I don't regret buying this at all... I just was hoping for something slightly better. The lunch meat slices are just sheets of vinyl with no texture at all. One of them is a bit transparent... Okay, but not wonderful. With some pieces in this set made so well, I wish they all were.

I can't believe how realistic these look!!! The pictures don't do it justice!! I posted pictures on Facebook because I was so surprised with the realism! I had Plenty of people agree and ask where I bought them so their kids could play with these too! My two year old Loves these and I highly recommend buying them over all the other types of play food I've seen!

Very real look, it's fooled quite a few adults who have seen it laying on our floor. The food is more rubbery opposed to the cheap plastic of most play foods. It's durable, I have two boys who play with this, and they are not gentle guys. These were a little more money than other play food bundles, but I think they're worth it.

This is a fantastic set! It's very realistic! My 3yo loves them. Perfect addition to her little kitchen. Yes, they smell a little weird at first, but it goes away. And they are easy to wipe clean. We just use blue dawn and some warm water on a cloth to wipe them clean.

We bought this for our 2 year old because they have recently gotten all about the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and this was the most realistic i could find. the deli meat leaves a bit to be desired as fare as looks, and the cheese could be a tab bit larger. I have cheese from other play sets and so I really don't worry about it. But the lettuce and tomato and really realistic like the peanut butter and jelly. I also appreciate the the rubberized texture of the food, and the fact that they are thicker, i feel like my toddler is less likely to be able to break them (chip them) compared to a wooden set.

I had a set like this when I was little (about 20 years ago) and I went searching online thinking they probably didn't make them anymore. But I found these and knew, even though they're a bit pricey, I was definitely buying them. I LOVED how real mine felt and I knew in a couple years my son would appreciate them too.

These pieces are so realistic! Nothing, even the tomatos, is made out of a hard, cheap plastic. Everything has a rubbery feel and wonderful flexibility. The peanut butter has "spreading grooves" and the jelly has "bumpy chunks" just like real life!The only minor complaint I have is the cheese seems as if it was cut a little sloppy during the manufacturing process which gives them jagged edges all around. I might be able to work at them myself to improve their look.Overall, very satisfied!
