Great solitaire game for the Submarine lover!!!!
Game is awesome and addictive!!! I have played 10 + times, have gotten depth charged/sunk on my first patrol, up to receiving the Knights Cross with Oakleaves and Swords only to sink several months before end game ,1943. Been to the med and was sunk. Sank the the Royal Oak and a lot of shipping in Atlantic only to be depth/charged sunk (Knights Cross posthumously). Currently in Type IXC with 200,000+, Knight's Cross with Oakleaves, and 2 months to go in 1943 (done very well in North America but my next patrol in escort laden British isle....nooooooo!!). This game has always provided a different scenario every time I play and with the dice chance never gets boring or redundant. The rules were pretty easy to run through and booklet easy to read with good Index for any issues. Playing was a little slow learning the rules at first, but after a few campaigns, patrols and combat flows well. The more I played the more in-depth and interesting/fun the game became. For instance: resupplying at sea, roll of dice to choose destination, the chance of getting a green or elite escort or plane/air attack, the roll of double 6's and chance for superior torpedoes, good luck reroll, or injured crewman from accident. The game sucks you in (well at least me) because the more success you get the more personal it is when you run into some real trouble with escorts or air attacks. Get greedy for tonnage, you get sunk pretty quick. The dice throw takes no prisoners. I am really enjoying this so much and reviews are very positive for other sub games, I have gone and bought the whole set: The Hunted, Silent Victory, and Beneath the Med. I read and enjoy the history surrounding ww2 Submarines and find this adds a fun new dimension to that experience!!! Also, thank the patrons for answering my question about the faded numbers behind the damaged systems!! Update...Was able to get back to game after a few days (also a plus as you can easily put away and get back to where you left off), almost was sunk by escort during convoy attack with a depth charge HIT double 6 roll with 1943 modifier, but luckily the escort was green and brought my hits from sunk to 5 hits. Was able to limp back to port and now on to "The Hunted" YEHAAA!

Wonderful, well-balanced, and a must-have
In short: if you like solitaire gaming, this is a cornerstone of the genre. If you want to try solitaire gaming, this is a well-considered option to try your hand at. As someone who plays many solitaire board games (Target for Today, Patton's Best, Enemy Action: Ardennes, etc) I can wholeheartedly recommend this to experienced gamers and newcomers to the genre alike. The game is more easily and quickly set up than Patton's Best or Enemy Action, plays an entire campagin in roughly the time that it would take you to complete three or four missions in Target for Today, and has a rulebook that can be grasped quickly and easily. It is more decision and strategy focused than narrative type games typically are, but with its historical U Boat list included for reference, and the option to conduct historical patrol routes and timetables of actual "Aces of the Deep" such as Otto Kretschmer and others, the option exists to become as involved in the narrative as you like...or quickly barreling through a campagin just to see how high you can push the tonnage numbers. Well balanced, and with well constructed components included, this game never strays far from my desktop. The relatively compact size of the required playing area means I can easily push my home working laptop aside, play the game, and reset the desk area for the next day's work without regret.

Excellent U-boat Game!
Outstanding game! I had been looking for a decent U-boat board game, but not one so complicated you need a PhD in order to play it (like Steel Wolves). The Hunters fills the void perfectly. It is detailed, but easy enough to learn and begin playing after a quick read through of the rules. Even better, it is designed specifically for solitaire play so I don't have to search for someone else to play it with. And best of all, a patrol can be completed in as little as 30 minutes. The game has excellent support from the author and publisher, and on Boardgamegeek.com. The game is out of print (again), so grab a copy while you still can!

Great WW2 Solitare Game
I am a huge history buff and I love board games. Unfortunately, a lot of times I cannot get enough people to come over to play a game that could take a few hours. Therefore, this game is perfect for me. I can really get into this as the historical accuracy is amazing and you can really feel the effects when you are constantly depth charged by an escort! TL/DR: Great solo game for WW2 enthusiasts with the option for two-player gameplay

Thrilling and tense!
I ran a 3 hour campaign last night that felt like 10 minutes. The tension you feel when trying to slip from the grip of an Escort raining down depth charges... it is intense! This is a rules like Solitaire war game. It is low on complexity and high on enjoyment and replayability.

good solitaire game
I liked the game but there is a lot of die rolling which can get repitious. atimes, just as in real life, there is nothing that you can do to survive the mission. The components are excellent and the company provides a number of instructional videos.

User in mind.
Have not played yet. Just unboxed. The laminated chart, Tokens already in simple storage boxes, and complete pad of stat sheets make this the most ready to play user minded game I have bought. You are not paying for fluff. You are buying useful tools. If the rules follow this same pattern then I know this will be a great game.
