So i tried to buy some used oem batteries from the strore for my hp laptop and had to return both of them, i guess all oem hp batteries are too old, and also another extended battery i got lasted only a year until it got swollen for no reason and charged only to 75 percent. I was going to get rid of the 8440p laptop sinceIt was old but wanted to give it one more try. This battery charged to 100 percent and lasted very long. It is the best aftermarket HP battery that can be bough. 5 stars for now, if anything changed within a year i will update my review.

I ordered this battery 4 years ago and been using it with my laptop on daily basses. Maybe I shouldn't keep the laptop still plugged in with the battery on to prolong its life, but I do ... At this point, the battery by itself without watching videos and not being plugged in, can run the laptop for almost 2 hours.

OEM fit for my HP ProBook 4540s. I have gone through over 20 recharges without a hitch. Getting about 3.5 to 4 hours of usage after recharge.

…you get what ya pay for.The price is right for what you get:- Easy to install. And built to stay in place. The tabs lock securely in place.- Recharges fairly quickly (plug in wall and waited maybe 30 to 40 minutes for a full battery charge).- Using *only* an Ubuntu OS, I am seeing a full battery charge last about 4 hours—using the lsptop the entire time, with maybe about three breaks where the screen saver kicked in for about 5-6 minute breaks.- As with any cheaper battery, you have to watch the battery usage indicator in your OS—and plan your work time accordingly.- Also, as with *all* batteries—if you do not let the battery get extremely low (almost entirely out of battery power), before you plug it into the wall to charge it up, you *will* decrease the life of the battery. When i say decrease the life of the battery, I mean that over time the battery will not be able to “hold” its *power* as long as the first day you received it. So today i am getting about 4 hours of life out of the battery—if i don’t let the battery lose it’s power sll the wsy down before slmost being entirely empty, and I plug it in sooner (like maybe at 50% or even 15% left in power)—then I can expect that the battery will begin to degrade on power it can store. So maybe go from its current 4 hours of retention, to 3 and maybe 2 hours.- AND leaving the laptop plugged in 24/7, will do the *exact* same thing as is described above! This is totally normal and will occur with *all* batteries from *any* manufacturer.BUT if you pay more money and get a battery which originally was made for your laptop—the power retention tome will last longer. I went this cheaper route, as I am low on funds right now, and I do need my laptop to work. 😉

GOOD BATTERY

This battery arrived DOA. As you can see by the photo, it is completely dead. How did it ever pass inspection? I wish I could give zero stars.Amazon tells me that I cannot return it because it is a battery. This purchase apparently was a complete waste of my time and money. Do not buy this brand.

This battery is a perfect fit for an older Hewlett Packard laptop, model DV6t-2300. Initially I ordered a battery for a HP DV6 and that did not fit at all (another vendor). This vendor listed compatibility with the DV6t series so I ordered. A few days later it was delivered. I was delighted when it fit perfectly.It was delivered with very little charge so, before using, I charged it overnight. I then removed the ac adapter to run solely on battery power. After about 3 hours watching YouTube and general browsing I was down to about 20%. I'll charge it back up and cycle it down again. So far it is working great. I "think" the battery life is somewhat similar to the original battery HP shipped.The battery was shipped/delivered quickly, it was well packaged to arrive undamaged, and it works perfectly. I'm glad I have this one now!
