Use with confidence!
As with all Espoma products, this is top quality. It won't "burn" your plants when you use more than the recommended amount, which I have because my soil is the poorest quality. I am working on building soil from volcanic cinders that have no phosphorus or calcium.

Amend your soil, increase your plant health.
Have used this product for 3 years now. I scratch it into the top layer of soil in my raised beds, and I add some directly around the roots when I plant. Have seen increased growth, health, and harvests with this product.

Essential for beautiful roses!
Bone meal makes a huge difference in growing beautiful roses. I am finally able to plant roses, and have time to give them the care they need (and deserve). After I dug the bed, amended the soil and soaked my barefoot roses from Jackson and Perkins, I dug the place for each rose and added 1-2 cups of bone meal to each hole. I then added water to wet and then cover the bone meal. I then added the soil back in and with my shovel, mixed it well. I then scooped out as much of this mixed soil as I needed to to plant the roots. I added enough water to make it 'mucky', (but not 'runny'), stirring well. Then, I placed those large bare roots down into the mucky mixture, and gently pressed it all in, on, and around those roots. THEN, I added a couple of inches of the reserved soil mixture on top of that, and pressed it firmly into place. Finally, I finished with the rest of the soil, being careful not to cover the actual football, and left that final coating 'loose', so it is able to quickly absorb water. Within days, leaves were forming, an in 1 week little branches were forming! There are a couple of things to be prepared for, though: 1. This stuff stinks to high heaven, but my mini doxies actually thought is smelled LIKE heaven! So... 2. Pet dogs will dig up your roses trying to find the source of that awful / wonderful smell, so you'd better keep an eye on them--roses AND dogs. Overall, an A1 product when paired with great roses, but P U for that smell!!!!

Plants love bone meal
Love this brand. My flowers and plants love a sprinkle of this when I plant them. I feel my plants do better starting off with a little bone meal. The quality is great.
