I've owned this little kitchen helper about a year and a half now. After much trial and error on my side, i finally figured out how to cook a ribeye on it and decided it was time to let others know that this small grill is a work horse. I don't use it daily, i'd say i bring it out about 1-2 x per month. The sear feature i believe gets up to 450 degrees - this is needed in some cases. There was one incident in which i thought it broke, but it was truly user error. I put hamburgers on there before the grill got hot and they got stuck. I decided not to give up and tried again and it worked as new. Allow the grill to get to temperature before you put your food on it and you'll be fine. As far as the smoke, for the price and what it is, i find this to be acceptable. It does smoke once it gets hot but once the food goes on there and you close the lid, it's almost comparable to a smokeless grill. If you live in a condo or apartment and can't cook outside, this will be a great addition to your kitchen. As far as cleaning, I don't put the grill plate with the heating element connectors in the dishwasher even though it says here you can. I put the tray and the lid in the dishwasher, but soak the grill plate upside down in hot soapy water in the sink for about 15 minutes without submerging the rods, and any food stuck to it comes right off with a soft sponge. I want for my things to last, i think protecting the heating element connectors on the grill this way may buy me some extra time with this gadget. It's the perfect size to cook 4-5 burgers or two good size steaks, maybe 3 -4 chicken breasts depending on size. I love this little grill. I'm not a fan of air fryers or extra appliances but this was a great purchase. Glad i got it.

So far all I've cooked is chicken breasts, pork chops and burgers but they have come out perfect every time! I absolutely love this grill. The temp gauge seems to be pretty spot on. It's sear function works great and the next temp down is 450° then 350° and so on. The meats retain their juices and can be easily monitored by a good digital thermostat. The cooking times suggested on the directions are pretty accurate, nothing over or undercooked yet. I've encountered next to no smoke and just use my kitchen fan and crack a kitchen window a bit. I bought this mainly because it can be too hot out to grill or turn on the broiler. Easy to clean up after wuth a brush made for Teflon grills, (Oxo has a good one). Only drawback is the only way to turn it off is to unplug. But to me that's no biggie. All in all I highly recommend this for anyone that wants to grill meats for 2 - 4 people.

I've used this several times now and so far I am really loving it. As far as cleaning, I find it VERY easy to clean, I've used sticky BBQ sauce and sweet and sour sauce on different items I've cooked, and when I'm done cooking, I take all 4 parts, grill plate, cover, drip tray and bottom to the sink and spray the grill and top cover with my sink sprayer under hot water and everything just washes off quickly, the 4 sections actually comes apart which makes this extremely easy to clean. I have only hand washed everything so far using hot, soapy water with my handmade dishcloths that are made from 100% cotton yarn. They do not scratch the grill plate or other parts of the grill. I have not put any parts in the dishwasher as of yet. The grill gets pretty hot and the sear setting works well. I like the view window, you can see everything cooking and I haven't noticed a lot of smoke, like some have mentioned, I've cooked burgers, chicken and steaks using temps up to 400 degrees, as well as the sear setting, and there was very little smoke, when you throw something on the grill plate, it smokes a bit, but no more than when using a cast iron skillet and throwing something down, it smokes at first. Now for a few things I'm not crazy about: 1. This is yet another appliance with no designated ON/OFF switch, it must be unplugged to officially be OFF, so if you forget to unplug it, it will stay on whatever temp you had it set on last, not crazy about that, so just remember to unplug it 2. The lid comes off kind of easily when opening grill cover all the way when you need to flip or turn something over, it's happened a few times after opening while cooking.. 3. The drip tray has already warped after 3 uses, which is kind of surprising, it feels more like soft plastic than a more sturdy, hard material. It still fits in the base. Things I like about it: 1. All 4 sections of the grill come apart, and this really makes it easy to clean. 2. You can easily remove the drip tray immediately after cooking, it does not get hot at all, so if you want to pour drippings from burgers or steak back onto the meat, you can do that easily without using an oven mitt. Despite not getting hot during use, it did warp slightly on one corner after a few uses. 3. The sides of the grill where the handles are do not get hot, you can easily move the grill around if you needed to. All in all, it is a nice alternative to an outdoor grill for those who don't like messing with gas or fire, like myself, but of course, it doesn't give it that nice, charcoal grilled flavor, but the grill plate is a good size, and the little side section is perfect if you want to grill onions or other veggies without them falling through the grate. I haven't even needed to soak the grill, even after using the different sauces I've mentioned, just running hot water over it has just melted the mess right off grill plate. I will update if any other issues occur, but so far, I really like it.

I am no griller and have no grill master title or skills. In fact, this grill I'd consider to be my intro into grilling. But, as someone who LOVES grilled food, I must say this does the job. I've included many pics. I can't stand the 1 pic reviews and you don't know what the item could look like. The box arrived and there were 3 pieces - the grill hood, the grill plate, the grill bottom - with a how-to manual. The well sized drip tray was already attached. It took less than 5 minutes to put together. I was pretty impressed with the grill. To be turned on, you must plug it in. The red POWER light cuts on and you can choose your settings. The heats range from Min (less that 200°) to Sear (over 400°). There is a green READY light that cuts on once the grill sets to your preferred temp. I would suggest not putting any food on the grill until it is fully ready. The good thing is that the grill begins heating up as soon as you set it which is awesome. Once done, just unplug the device. I haven't cooked anything raw yet, but did heat up some Thai scallion chicken I previously made. The grill took about 6 minutes to heat up and the meat was warmed in about 3. The chicken has these grill lines and it gave my already baked chicken the "umph" taste! Also, I liked that I could see the food and there was a significant amount of space between the grill glass and food with no touching. The clean up was super easy. I just used a warm damp rag to go throughout the grill plate sides. The drip tray is durable and can be easily taken out and washed in the sink. I haven't used in the dishwasher yet, but Amazon's "About This Item" says the grill plate, hood and drip tray are dishwasher safe. Nothing stuck or burned. Buy this grill. I can already envision myself grilling up a storm next weekend. I was so happy with its use in the first 10 minutes and I'm sure you will be too ☺

I cook for a family of four on this grill. It works very well. It heats thoroughly and evenly. When this one goes, I will definitely be purchasing another one.

I am a HUGE fan of QUALITY products and this indoor grill fits that bill. My Husband and I ENJOY having a GOOD steak or burger once in a while and we only "fire up" our VERY LARGE outdoor charcoal grill during the summer season. We have owned an indoor grill from a well known brand for years...However, it tends to "char" the food BEFORE it's fully cooked because it DOES NOT have a temperature control setting. This leads to "dryness" of the meat. Though, I liked that our OLD grill had removable plates that I could clean in the dishwasher, the fact that I could NOT control the temperature always bothered me because of the way our food would cook. It would also trap grease in hard to reach places and drip down under the removable plates and burn the surface. Furthermore, it didn't have quite enough cooking space for our needs. So, when I decided to UPGRADE a few of our kitchen appliances, a new indoor grill was at the TOP of the list. I searched Amazon for indoor grills that had the features that I wanted and needed and I came across this Hamilton Beach Electric Indoor Grill. It boasted ALL of the features that I was looking for. For one, it's stainless steel, it also has a temperature control setting, sizable and removable grill plate that's dishwasher safe AND a glass viewing window!! Also, the lid is an actual lid and does NOT come in contact with our food. I love that the lid is also removable, however, I wish the lid was dishwasher safe...But, unfortunately it is NOT. The drip pan is more of a "drip drawer," which I absolutely LOVE because I no longer have to worry about grease drippings on the counter. It is also dishwasher safe. The base of the unit is VERY EASY to wipe clean, which is another plus. So far, I have only grilled burgers on this grill. They were the BEST burgers that we've ever had using an indoor grill!! My Husband referenced how JUICY the burgers were, which I noticed and APPRECIATED as well. The burgers were cooked to PERFECTION with AMAZING grill marks, without being charred and dried out. I can easily fit 6 [1/3 pound] burgers on here, instead of only 2 at a time. I would HIGHLY recommend this item to anyone looking for a QUALITY indoor grill. Just keep in mind that the removable lid is NOT dishwasher safe, so you will have to clean it by hand. However, the lid is EASY to clean with hot soapy water. Also, be sure to check dimensions because this is a nice-sized grill and takes up a decent amount of counter space. The pros DEFINITELY outweigh the cons or should I say "con" with this item. Thank you, Amazon for another QUALITY item for our kitchen!!

Excellent grill for family of two. It was getting to be too much trouble to heat up a grill when I am only cooking for two people. But we missed the grilled steak, chicken, burgers, hotdogs, etc. This grill has put that pleasure back into our lives. It was easy to assemble and worked awesome the very first time. I am not sure what people were saying about smoke, because I did not experience that at all. I did use in on my stovetop, so that any smoke would go up the vent, but I honestly did not see any. So far, we have loved everything I have made on this grill. Highly recommend.

Grill Steak fantastic

I’m very happy with my Hamilton Beach indoor grill! It heats up quickly and cooks food evenly, giving nice grill marks just like an outdoor BBQ. What I really like is how easy it is to use and clean. The removable plates and drip tray make cleanup super simple. It also doesn’t produce much smoke, which is perfect for indoor cooking. Overall, this is a great buy for anyone who wants a convenient and reliable indoor grill. Highly recommend!

Works Perfectly!! Simple set-up. Have used several times with different meats, no smoke each time and all is good! The clean-up so easy; remove the drip pan, remove the grill, wipe out cover and seals. The grill washes quickly and easily, I really appreciate the ease of HB Indoor Grill. I truly recommend this grill for anyone in an apartment inviroment. This is not free product for review. Honest!!

Looks really usefull, i havent tested it out properly, im still planning on what im gonna cook with it, its light weight and is very "practical", dont be afraid of its plastic parts, its well built, obviously you have to take care of it, if you do it, i think it will last as much or even more than other more expensive indoor grills. I ran a test without food and everything looks working as intended. Its a really nice kitchen tool to have around.
