GAMMA GEAR IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE REPULSER GEAR, BUT JUST AS FUN.
Playmation Avengers GAMMA STARTER PACK WITH LOKI VILLAINMy son loves the Playmation Repulsor starter kit he got from Santa Claus. He has literally been playing it everyday for the past week. I would highly recommend you get at least 4 rechargeable AA batteries for the Repulsor Arm Gear that comes with it. I’ve been needing to change them out every few days. The 2 included power activators also take 4AA each, but seem to last about twice as long because they aren’t used full time. We downloaded the Playmation AvengersNet app to an iPad Mini and while it isn’t needed it does add a lot to the overall experience by giving you a command center, allowing you to change settings on your Repulsor, showing your missions, letting you download new missions to your gear, allowing you to download and install updates to your gear and providing a lot of good information overall that will make playing much more involved. So he received some Christmas money and decided on expanding the set with this Gamma Gear Starter Pack. The Hulk fists are great and completely different from the Repulsor gear. Both fists have on/off buttons. The Right Fist is the Master Fist and takes 4AA batteries. The Left Fist is the Slave Fist and only requires 2AA’s. The Power Activator takes 4AA’s. Once again I would recommend rechargeable batteries. The Right Fist has a small pointer finger positioned button inside on the inner handles that you grip the fists with. It also has an ability button on the outside. The Left Fist doesn’t have any buttons. You do different moves by hitting your fists on the ground, punching them together raising one fist or the other or both up in the air, pretending to pickup objects like a tank and throwing them. There are a lot of combo moves that you can perform with 2 fists as compared to one arm with the Repulsor gear. The set also comes with Loki.Loki is the master of mischief and the adopted brother of Thor. Loki believes he is the rightful heir of Asgard and should be next on Odin’s throne. What he lacks in size he makes up for in cunning and sorcerery, so don’t trust his illusions. He is always devious.Loki will start at level 1 when you first get him and will be easy to defeat if you have already leveled yourself up a bit. We were able to level him up pretty fast in about 20 mins. Our repulsor was at level 17.When you place Loki on one of the power activators and attack him, you can spar with him in order to level up your gear as well as him. He attacks with a mystical MISDIRECTION at level 1 and then learns the SCEPTER BLAST attack at level 5. When your Repulsor gear reaches or has reached level 10 then it will gain the POWER LEECH ability from him. If you also have the Gamma gear it will gain the LIFE STEALER at level 10.POWER LEECH - Hold down the “Deploy Button” until this ability is fully charged. Then release to activate. It will emit a mighty energy blast that restores your shields when used to defeat an enemy.LIFE STEALER - Punch the ground repeatedly to build up Gamma Rage. Once your Gamma Rage is full, punch your fists together. This ignites your Gamma Power, allowing you to regain some of your health when you damage enemies. The Hulk Fists are great fun. It is even better to have 2 people play, one with each type of gear. If you have both starter sets, you will have 3 power activators now and at least that many figures. It can become really fun to mix and match the gameplay. I am not sure which gear I would start with. We started with the Repulsor then added the Gamma, but I think it really doesn’t matter. I would get whatever is the favorite choice. I would like to mention that the Repulsor can hurt your arm a little after wearing it until you get used to it. Holding the Fists by contrast, don’t really cause any discomfort.

Our family loves this interactive series
We are very sad that the company has chosen to discontinue thus line of toys. Our 6 yr old boy & 8 yr old daughter (and Mom) LOVE playing with these. Because these are interactive, we get lots of exercise running around the house etc. Unlike Xbox or PlayStation, which are interactive, the equipment for this Game is all very portable. It can be taken outside, or to a friends house or when visiting other family. That makes it easy to change the setting where you are doing role playing. With the interaction of Smart Software, the kids get to keep building skill level and achievements. They enjoy keeping track of it on the software and choosing the next missions. They can play with each other or they can play by themselves, making it very flexible for every one. The only thing I don't like about the series is that I haven't found a way to turn down the volume on the triangular activators. A little duct tape helps

I purchased this for my 4-year-old son, so he can play alongside me with my Ironman repulsor gear. My son loves the gamma gear, and runs around the house yelling "Hulk Smash!" The product arrived on time, and packaging was in good condition. The Gamma Gear synced up with the power activators and repulsor gear with no issue. The only think I do not like is the excessive amount of batteries these things take. If you make the investment in this equipment, I strongly advise you invest in rechargeable AA batteries. At least a 30count. I would have given 5 stars if it did not require so many batteries.

son likes these
My son got these from Santa. He seems to like them. He's 10 and hasn't played with them too much. He's more into video games like Minecraft. If there were a Minecraft version of these he'd be playing them nonstop I'm sure. His sister got a different set, and they like that they can link them and play together or battle each other. I think it would be really neat if there were an option to see enemies and stuff on the tv as well so they can battle them. It would still be wireless and they'd still have to move to take cover and such. These are a great way to get your kids moving if they actually play with them.

Perfect! for my 9 and 11 year old grandsons (they are brothers)
My grandsons age 9 and 12 loved all the Playmation items I bought for them for Christmas. They hadn't asked for any of it - I had decided it looked like something they would like (and it would get them away from other electronic devices and get them up on their feet moving around and using their imaginations). I did get two of these starter packs so they would each have one of the big green hands.Best thing I've ever purchased for them - they were jumping around like crazy when they opened them. That was a thrill for me to see the so happy and thankful for this set of Playmation toys!

Ships in the retail box--not a sturdy shipping box UNLESS you read the fine print
I can't tell you how well the product works...mainly because it came in the retail box (the one you see in the advert pic) and arrived looking like the Hulk himself had done a touchdown slam on the welcome mat. There IS a small option that asks if you'd like it shipped in a box, but unless you're looking for that, you don't know it will arrive like this. No message about it being obvious what is being shipped. The box also is not meant to be manhandled as a shipping container. Since this poor thing looks like it went through the wringer with the Avengers themselves, it was returned. Based on the condition of the box and internal smashing, I can't even begin to think this will function without some issues. Saving a few cents on an external box is costing them the entire item.

6 year old son loses interest pretty quickly.
My 6 year old son received this for Christmas. He was very excited, but the set up process was complicated enough for him to lose interest. The only time he plays with it is when one of his older siblings will do it with him and even then he loses interest more quickly than I would have thought.

But my 4 and 6 year old don't really get the concept beyond just punching wildly until the bad guy comes off the platform
This seemed so interesting--and it was, for a couple of days. But my 4 and 6 year old don't really get the concept beyond just punching wildly until the bad guy comes off the platform, so it got stale pretty quickly.
