Exorcism!
I purchased to replace a Champion 4 flush valve that was having ghost flushes. Replacing the flapper gasket did not solve the solution. Since the phantom flushes seem to be a design flaw with the original valve I wanted an alternative. This fits the bill. The replacement was straight forward and got rid of my ghost. In addition, this design allows for more water - for those looking for a stronger flush. For those wanting to conserve, you can adjust the fill to a lesser amount.

Fixes the toilet- so worth it
I bought a house 2 years ago that had the American Standard toilet with the odd flush valve. It would flush half the time and not the other half. I tried to fix it with hacks and a new lever but then it would just run off and on for no reason. This was a little pricier than I wanted but I figured it was this or the water bill and this fixed it. I can't really remember the instructions as I already knew how to take the tank off and replace it. Flushes great now and no constant running of the water. Definitely worth it.

Great replacement for Champion 4
This flush valve is a direct replacement for the Champion 4 flush valve. I bought two of these toilets when we built our house in 2021. I should have read the reviews closer but these toilets have a faulty design with their flush valve. The seal breaks down over time causing 'ghost' flushing. Water from the tank leaks in to the bowl causing the fill valve to fill the tank constantly. I replaced the seals many times and they would work for a few months and then the ghost flushing would start back up. This flush valve is a very good replacement and is working great so far. It seems kinda expensive for what it is though, but if it saves on the water bill, maybe it will pay for itself over time.

Much better flush. Flapper eylette breaks quickly
Creates a better flush, and the flapper never started leaking; but, less than a year after installing the flapper eyelett that attaches the chain-pull has torn. It is a bad design. The eyelette is molded as part of the soft flapper material, and will not hold up. Once the eylette is torn, there is no way to attach the pull chain. Done. The 3" Korky flapper works on it, so... easy enough to replace.

Worth The Money! Getting Another For The Other 2 Piece Champion 4 Toilet.
I bought a couple of green flush valves from Amazon. The one that came without the nylon wrench would and would phantom flush after 2 months. Changed the seal 3 times. Every 2 months, toilet would phantom flush again. Think the valve was a return to Amazon, and I got it. Just put the NuFlush valve in that toilet. I have 3 month old OEM bolts and tank to toilet gasket, so I did not use the nylon supplied bolts or gasket. Saved the nylon wrench from my other toilet. Tightened the bolts until the tank touches the toilet. That is a must, everyone. No leaks, and great whirlpool flushes. I do not care if it uses more water. Needed 2 flushes with old valve sometimes. I just ordered another valve to replace that green flush valve on the 2nd toilet. That green valve is not causing problems yet….

It fits the American Standard Champion 4 inch toilet, it works!
Update 3/11/2022 Corrected the toilet type to Champion 4. Still working very well.We have several American Standard Champion 4 toilets. We need the larger passage. The special "flapper" has never worked well for us. We had one of the originals, which they replaced. The newer one is not really getting the job done.- Does not go very long before it starts to leak- Has a problem with catching and staying open- Often need to double flushThis last time I tried to replace the "washer" to fix a leak the plastic post in the center holding the parts together fell off and down the toilet. That was the "last straw". I was not able to get the plastic part out, only clean water it going in there. But I do not want to unmount the toilet and shake it to get that part out.So, started looking for other options. Tried the Fluidmaster 3 inch kit, it just leaked. The opening on the toilet is really about 3.5 inches, maybe something is wrong with my toilet, maybe I did not get it centered well enough. Maybe I should have tightened it better. Anyway, it leaked about as bad or worse that what I was replacing. Then we tried this one. It is the correct size. It is working great. Some notes about the install:- I am still using the bolts from American Standard, nice brass bolts, and I like the plastic specialty wrench needed to tighten the nut/bolt. We had kept them and not lost them.- I did not notice the gasket provided by this company, so I used the one from the 3 inch fluidmaster, it worked fine.- I also used the plastic wrench from American Standard for the big nut that goes on the 3.5 inch pipe to really snug it down. All is working. No leaks. And no double flushing. More of the tank is available for flushing as well, I have lowered the water level, but the American Standard flusher has that large post to just leave several inches in the tank at all times. I am interested to know where to get a replacement flapper when that time comes. I am hoping it is just a standard size and easy to find. Do not want to buy a whole new unit to replace a flapper. It was the most expensive flusher, but so far has been worth it.
