Bought these for P90x and love them. Even though the max weight is 30-40 lbs, that's plenty for a P90x workout. These are indeed, the highest quality workout bands I've ever used, hands down. First off, the bands are not too long, which is a common problem. They are just the right length so you don't have to loop them and step on them to shorten them. The bands are not going to come out of the handles; they are securely in the handle. The handles are hard plastic and look and feel as though they can take plenty of abuse. On the instruction sheet there is a chart that shows what band color corresponds to what weight. There are also exercises listed on the instructions. I wish that they included a small, high quality laminated sheet that I could put on my wall that shows the band color/weight chart; that'd be nice. Right now I have the instructions taped to the wall that show the band color/weight chart and it's pretty ghetto looking. There is one issue though that may be a concern for some, but I didn't mark the product down because I knew it going into it. The strongest cable tops out around 30-40 lbs, so if you need more weight, you can't add weight/other bands. Some other band sets allow you to add multiple bands to one handle, but that's impossible to do with these. The bands are fixed to the handles, so if you want to use two bands together, you're essentially going to have to hold 4 handles, and that's really hard to do because they are big handles. But the other side of the coin is that this is one reason why these bands are so good, is because those parts that can break off with being able to add bands are eliminated. Like I said, I knew this going into it so it's not a flaw, but might be something that you don't like. If you have any questions, just ask in the comments and I'll try and respond promptly.

I wanted a set of resistance bands. Went to local retailer and found another brand but the price was a bit too much. Came to amazon to see about alternatives. B.M.T. resistance bands were one of the top sellers with fantastic reviews. The price was unbeatable. I purchased them with my prime 2-day shipping membership and they came in time as promised. Once I received them I noticed they come with a warranty support card with a U.S. customer support telephone number. The bands are warrantied for life. Fantastic! I decided to give them a call because they were running a promotion and spoke to an American, not some foreign call center. This is a bonus in itself because I like to support domestic small businesses. The bands are well constructed. I tested them all out by stretching each rubber band, the connections to the handles are sturdy, and the handles themselves are comfortable to hold. I'm a big guy at 6'2" and these bands are long enough for me as well as my 5'8" wife. The thinner ones give good resistance for my wife with her cardio workouts. I tend to use the two thickest most resistive bands for myself. A neat feature that comes with this kit is a door jamb loop that you can put into a closed door next to a hinge and use it as an anchor to pull or push off with the bands. These bands arrived promptly, were well packaged, and contained great product literature. The material of the bands is high quality- no worry about them snapping under pressure. The guide details different exercises you can perform to work different muscle groups. The set comes with a door adapter so you can attach an end to the bottom of the door using it as a low point to perform exercises like squats, or pull downs. My only grip with them: You're stuck with the static amount of resistance in each band. For example- if you wanted to increase weight of resistance to perform a certain exercise- you'd have to use 2 or 3 types of bands. The issue comes with the handles of each band. It's difficult to hold 3 foam handles while performing a strenuous exercise. Besides that- this is a great set and FAR less money than compiling a set of free weights and tucks away nicely in the bag when you're finished using them- taking up less space, being easier to store, and you can take them with you should you need to travel. Good product, good value, and GREAT for any home gym.

My husband and I started P90X for the new year so we needed to get some weights or bands for the program. We did not want to have a bunch of free weights to deal with so we decided to go with the bands. P90X incorporates the bands into every lifting exercise so the bands have worked very well for the program and they offer as much of a physical challenge as free weights. My husband and I share the bands but since we are at different levels we haven't needed the same band at the same time. Having 6 bands instead of 5 is a great option, plus the band with the greatest resistance is higher than if we would have just purchased the 5 bands. I highly recommend these bands. They are well made; they are easy to use; they are comfortable on your hands; they offer great weight resistance benefits; and they are easy to store. What more could you ask for?...Well, I can't find where the bands are made, but being made in the U.S.A. would be ideal.

I am in college, and instead of going to the gym, prefer to spend my time in my room so I can switch between studying and workouts on a whim. Since I cant obviously have a whole weight set in my dorm room, these resistance bands do a great job as a replacement. The booklet it gives, too, provides many ideas for various exercises, which allows the set of bands to replace MULTIPLE pieces of equipment. I guess I shouldnt say "replace", as an entire home gym would probably work better. But it definitely provides a great way to work out in a limited space. And on a lower budget. These things are definitely worth the money. I say if you are traveling, living in a small apartment, or in college, these things are perfect. they save on space and money, and do a great job in a workout. They even work well as a supplement to a gym membership. Definitely worth my money.

Let me start by saying i purchased these bands as an alternative for pullups on p90x. For this they work well. Except that for me there is not enough resistance. I use free weights for all the exercises i do and did not purchase these bands as a replacement for that. However i thought I'd give them a shot and see how they work. Let me say that i am 6ft and at work i regularly lift 100lbs and carry that weight around all day. Ive always been stronger than everyone around me so this may be partial to me or a select for individuals. For bicep curls the 40lb band feels about like 30lbs of free weights. Now ive worked out on a bowflex before so i know that the numbers fpr resistance are far from accurate. For example i can do 110lbs bicep curls on bowflex with ease. But free weights i max out at about 70lbs. Regardless i remedied this by using two bands simultaneously. Using the red and orange gave me a good bicep workout. But lets get to the pullups sonce this is what i bought them for. Using the door anchor i have to use not one, not two, but the 3 hheaviest bands included for me to get a decent pullup workout.This is ok for me since i have large hands, i can handle 3 handles. But if i had smaller hamds this would be very difficult. But this isnt tthe products fault. Its not made for people to use in replace of body weight. Its made to work up to your body weight or for people who dont want that strong of a back, or arms, they just want ro be defined. I will say though, for the price they blow free weights out of the water. They may be lighter weight, slightly awkward. But it beats shelling out $100s of dollars to get the same amount of weight. I would recommend this for p90x or anyone who wants a good workout as cheap as possible.

I left the original review up below, so you can see that the bands themselves are great until they start to break. Unfortunately, one of them started to break after less than three months of use. I’m 4‘11“, 127 pounds so I’m not using the resistance bands more aggressively than they should be expected to work for. I was very lucky that the Amazon agent I contacted agreed to help me out. Otherwise the return window had of course closed and I would’ve just been out of luck. I definitely suggest passing on these resistance bands and getting other ones. *************** First Review: I live in a rural area and my workout has to be home-based. These bands are fantastic. Very sturdy and durable. Great for business trips and vacations and even at home on a fulltime basis. Great for working on fast twitch muscles. just make sure to secure on a door opening in the opposite direction.
