I needed a clear vanilla flavouring, so i asked the question before ordering. was told it was clear, but it's not! its the same as most... brown in colour. Tastes fine, but I ordered under the impression it was clear!

Since I developed an allergy to the sulphites in wine, my cooking's gone downhill. You can do a lot of interesting things with, for example, a chicken but none equal to a coq au vin! As someone who used to put wine in nearly everything, I was unreasonably excited to discover a red wine flavouring that isn't made from wine.It is like wine - cheap, stale wine. It smells like empty glasses the day after a party, tastes much the same, and doesn't improve with cooking. Additionally, it isn't as strong as I expected so, should you inexplicably want to make a dish redolent of the cheap plonk your mate brought round a fortnight ago and never finished, you'd need at least half this little bottle.Pity.

I used this product for maple & pecan madeleines, they were delicious.
