Both the G and high E strings broke, on both sets, long before getting to pitch.

Yeah I’ve had that happen to me too. What I’ve do here lately is tune them almost to standard let them sit for 30 minutes to an hour and then finish turning. Hope this helps you out.

When I started in the early 60s, the heavy strings was all we could get. That's not true any more. They sound great, bends are easy and stress on the guitar is WAY less. Try them out, you will love them.

No. They will be fine. I installed them on many different guitars with three different brands of pickups and they all work fine.
