Works great

I used this product to record conversations so that I had proof of them. It is really small and can therefore be carried about in a pocket or a hand without being detected. As it is a USB it can easily be passed off as nothing more than a memory stick. I had a little play with it at first to see whether it could be switched on whilst remaining in a pocket and also whether it would pick up clearly whilst recording from inside a pocket. I knew that this was a tricky test so I wasn't expecting much. The result was muffled, unsurprisingly so I have been more inventive in how to use it. I was never more than a couple of meters from the other party and the device picked all conversation up clearly. The instructions that come with the device are very clear and easy to follow. It was very simple to "view" the various recordings I had made when I plugged the USB into my laptop, easy to listen to them and easy to save them to my laptop. You don't need to be a computer whizz kid to do this although you would need sufficient knowledge of how to save from one drive to another on your laptop. Overall I am very pleased with this simple but effective device which I consider to be excellent value at the price. I have dropped one star as the on/off switch is not very positive and I feel that it would be easy to accidently turn it on or off at the most inappropriate moment.

I have previously used a Sony Dictaphone but this little device is 12 % of the size of the Sony .The device does pick up road traffic background noise but this does not overwrite a voice in the room where the device is positioned . It is not as crisp as the Sony (far from it) it is a bit dampened but you can hear the words spoken no problem The device even picked up my voice at 10 meters through and internal door . The device does not record 100% of the time unless there is a noise . So some background traffic is not recorded away from a window . The device even picks up a very moderate speaking voice across a room. The usb charger is great compared to the sony alkaline batteries which dont last long.I have found it charges in 10 minutes not 3 hours . I left in on by mistake in my room and it recorded for 7 hours . Just plug it in and click on the record folder and you have the MP3 that you can click through . It is a gem of a device and worth every penny .

I was excited to receive this Mini Voice Recorder 8GB but then so disappointed that it wouldn't play back. I tried everything and finally I emailed Jigmo at 20.00hrs. Within minutes I had a reply. They emailed me back and forward and finally I had the solution. Considering the fault lay with windows media player and not their product I had tremendous help from them. As for the recorder it works beautifully. Excellent sound and easy to use. Jigmo guys reassured me that if I had any more problems they were only an email away. What wonderful, helpful, friendly service. I would not hesitate to buy from them in the future.

This is the BEST little gadget EVER! I am using it for antisocial abuse and believe you me it captures everything! It IS voice activated and you can hear distinct sound when it has just re-started but not so that it affects anything. If you need surveillance, this is the ticket...everything else would be bread n butter. (btw) I bought 2, and am now buying a 3rd as leaving it out all night with all his noise is not lasting long enough. **JUST AN FYI** I was advised by police to do this recording, so, use for this purpose under guidance or at your own risk,As an update, I have now bought 6 of these as I needed to change them more often. the building I live in is not sound-proof at all, thus picks up birds chirping, cars passing etc, so (you get the drift). One went faulty and before checking with jigmo about possibly resolving problem, I requested refund/exchange...however they have one year warranty and customer service is second to NONE! Even if you only need for recording lectures or something, if you do not need to play back immediately...this is a great piece of kit! It is seriously voice activated unlike some others I have previously had and will pick up a pin drop, so be careful where you place it.

This is a lightweight recorder easy to set up with good clear recordings made, pop this in your pocket, bag, or hold it in your hand.

I purchased on the recommendation from my son who uses it a lot for his studies. He had no problem using it but I did due to my OS and security features. I was going to bin it but decided to contact their customer service. They replied within hours with suggestions and a phone number if needed. Well, I needed to spend an hour or so with the customer service agent. He was extremely helpful and patient. So, a good result but it might take persistence and patience depending on your set up / anti-virus - but the Jigmo staff are keen to help so I give it (and them) 5 stars.

The JiGMO is definitely a handy dictaphone as it is small enough to fit on a key ring or around your neck BUT a major issue I have with it is that it takes 10-12 seconds for it to start recording after you push the button. I want to use it for quick memos and reminders on the go so I usually end up waiting longer for it to start recording then I do actually recording. Having said that, for it's size and convenience, the sound quality and capacity are very good!
