Tendak SDI HD-SDI 3G-SDI to HDMI 720p/1080p Adapter Video Converter with Embedded Audio

Bought this over another SDI to HDMI converter explicitly because of a single line in the specifications:"Integrated audio de-embedder for a maximum of 8 channel, 48 kHz audio"Thus far I can find NO indication that it actually de-embeds anything more than the first audio pair from SDI. In addition to that, it won't pass encoded audio on that pair (I suspect due to some sample rate conversion happening in the de-embedder).Functionally, it does what it says it will do...Converts SDI video to HDMI with an embedded audio pair. If you need Dolby or other encoded audio on the HDMI side though (or even multi-channel PCM) this isn't the box you want. I guess I shouldn't have been terribly surprised by this, but was hoping the spec was actually correct. Then again, the spec also mentions (on that same line about 8 channels of audio audio) an integrated and re-clocked loop-through...something this box does not provide. I have to suspect someone made a copy/paste error in the description.If anyone DOES find a reasonably priced box (aside from BlackMagic and AJA) that DOES provide full audio conversion between HDMI and SDI, I'd love to hear about it.

Needed these to connect SDI to my televisions. Work exactly as advertised, and have had no issues using them on three different types of TV's. Will definitely purchase again. Thanks!

It works to convert the signal, but the item I received is not identical to the picture and description, as the photo indicates you can power the converter off of 5-12V, and the item I received only says 5V. Had to scrap my plans to power it off of a NP-F battery, but little portable USB chargers work. I'm betting that they just printed the minimum on there, but I'm not willing to test it and burn the device out.Only video and audio, doesn't seem to pass through timecode, but that is to be expected from lower end devices like this one.

So far this working good. The supplied manual is not very informative but once you get it set up..you figure it out. Case in point is the status LED. It will flash when receiving a valid SDI signal. This was not stated in the manual.

The Product is working well, but the seller is lying with the photo, my product is Not 5-12 volts, it is only 5 volts.

Worked perfectly out of the box. Needed a unit that passed embedded HDSDI audio so I could have long distance HD for closed circuit video. Direct HDMI won't do long cable lengths.

Good.. But after one year some output now not working

For the price you can't beat it. Works great. If you have a Black Magic switcher and want to feed your camera to the converter and then to the switcher it won't work.
