Demi Doux Low Sugar SodaLow Sugar Soft Drink, No Artificial Sweeteners (Mixed Flavors, 16-pack)

This is a spendy soda, but we figured it was worth trying. The root beer and the orange were about what we'd hoped for (trading out sweetness in favor of other flavor components), and the cola was cola; but the ginger ale, rather than being the spice bomb that we'd hoped for, came off like a vaguely gingery seltzer. Can't win them all, I suppose.

I've ordered this twice. The first time I thought it was rather good and it worked well as a mixer with the mid-price bourbon I drink frequently. I really liked the idea of a lower calorie cola when I was trying to find a cane sugar cola, since Jones and others have stopped making it, so cane colas are tough to find these days.So I ordered another case after that one was finished. First couple of cans I mixed with a lesser grade bourbon than I normally drink and it had a really off taste. I then tried it without mixing in the bourbon. No, the off taste was with the cola itself. It isn't as bad when using higher grade bourbons. They kind of cut the off taste back. But, those are my sippin' whiskeys, that I usually drink neat. So, back to the nasty, high fructose corn syrup stuff for the time being. At least until I find a suitable syrup and start making my own.

not enuff oomph, or something.

I really like this soda. I was looking for a low-sugar option without any artificial sweetener, which is surprisingly hard to find. This stuff is great and just what it says it is: soda with half the sugar. It tastes great and I much prefer it to the full sugar options. I really like craft sodas: specialty colas, ginger beer, root beer, birch beer, etc. This stuff has really great flavor (cola is my favorite). I highly recommend it. The only real issue I have is that I can really slam a can and want another!I will say that the price point is a slight issue. It is really much more affordable than other similar products. But if the shipping cost was dropped these would be very affordable! Hopefully they will expand soon!

I won’t buy this item again, give me the sugar

I have not been a drinker of soda pop for a long time, even though I love it, for a few reasons. Regular soda is ALWAYS made with corn syrup, which tastes nowhere near as good as cane sugar and leaves a nasty aftertaste. Both regular sodas and diet sodas are also WAY too sweet, which means that all you really taste is the fake sweeteners. I had given up.When I saw this Demi Doux stuff -- real CANE SUGAR and HALF THE SWEETENER -- I thought it was worth a try. WOW! I love it. The sweetness is just right -- plenty sweet, but no so much that it overwhelms everything else. You can actually taste the sassafras in the root beer, and the ginger in the ginger ale. The orange soda actually tastes like orange soda, and the cola tastes like you-know-what used to taste like. I am going to place a monthly order for the Demi Doux variety pack! (Or two.)

Full disclosure - This review is based upon my personal preferences. YMMV. I found the taste to be good but not as strng as I would ahve liked. The 80 calorie/can was a big plus as was the use of real sugar. A lot depends upon your expectations and personal preferences, but I would have liked to have a little more syrup added to the sodas for a stronger flavor.
