After a recent Cairngorms trip, I found that I used this map and the Harveys Mountain map the most. With strong winds (60-70mph+) I cut off the cover of the map then put it inside a small map case and attached to my belt with some paracord. This map gives enough detail and most of the paths but is big enough for you to use one section in a map case even on a fairly long day. The 1:25 would need to be constantly turned or put in a larger map case. Advantage of the Harveys over this is the coloured contouring but for £5-£6 this covers a lot of ground in the main Cairn Gorm area

As usual a good detailed map for the walker and nature trekker/birdwatcher

Details are fine enough for most users, in my opinion, landranger maps are better than explorer because they cover larger area and are a bit smaller than more detailed version (It really makes a difference in strong wind)
