How do you loosen them? They are tied together very tightly and i dont want to break them.

It works like a drawstring. Pull the ends of the bracelet apart and the sizing cords will slide along the slip knot.

I'm looking for something to share with my 7 year old son. Has anyone tried to fit it on a child and if so does it work out?

Too large for a child...you could probably redo the ties? But I wouldn't bother...

Can this be worn on upper arm as you would see in the past on gurus, royals and warriors ?

Kind of, but not real appropriate, although might work if upper arms small enough. Try it, why not, could be new trendsetter!! Enjoy
