I much prefer the animated series that played on TV
Paddington is the only character that is animated via the stop action method. All the other characters are drawn but with actually very little animation. The voices of all the characters are done by one man, so all the characters, including Paddington, sound the same and their mouths do not even move when they are "speaking".For me personally, the only redeeming episode on this set is on disk 3, "Paddington goes to the movies" where Paddington recreates Gene Kelly's dancing in the street routine to the song "Dancing In The Rain" in the 1952 movie "Singin' in the Rain". Paddington's stop motion dancing is just amazing in this episode and this episode alone is worth the price of this entire set of episodes but, other than that one episode, I still prefer the original animated episodes that I enjoyed when I was growing up and that I still enjoy now as an adult.

"Please look after this bear"
This is a show that will charm both children and adults. I love the story of this little bear in his duffle coat, oversized hat, and winning personality. My seven-year-old daughter is a fan too, and we have enjoyed reading about his adventures as well as listening to audio CDs about Paddington. When I saw this DVD at our local library, I knew I had to get a copy for my daughter and I - the DVDs make for perfect viewing pleasure on dreary nights or when one isn't feeling too well and in need of some cheer. There are three DVDs in this set, containing all 56 episodes and three half-hour specials of the original stop-motion production:Disc OneEpisodes 1-28Bonus Episodes:Huxley Pig1. At the Circus2. The Haunted House3. The Desert Island4. At the Beach5. Big TopDisc TwoEpisodes 29-56Bonus EpisodesHuxley Pig1. Magician2. Reporter3. Stone-Age4. Space5. FishingDisc Three1. Paddington Birthday Bonanza2. Paddington Goes to School3. Paddington Goes to the MoviesBonus EpisodesThe Wombles1. Orinoco and The Big Black Umbrella2. The Rocking Chair3. A Sticky Ending4. Great Uncle Bulgaria's Keep Fit Lessons5. A Safe PlaceApprox. run time is 8 hours 7 minutes in colorThe DVD-ROM content includes wallpapers and activity pages. In a world saturated with garish, noisy TV programming for children, Paddington Bear is a refreshing ,calming influence, and very welcome indeed.

Marmalade Sandwhiches Are The Best, At Least I'm Told They Are
Recently purchased the complete classic series of Paddington Bear. This is the complete collection with 56 episodes. These episodes are shorts so no more than 10 minutes a piece or shorter. Along with every episode it also features the following:Disc 1: Huxley Pig: At The Circus/The Haunted House/The Desert Island/At The Beach & Big Top Disc 2: Magician/Reporter/Stone-Age/Space/Fishing Disc 3:Paddington Bear Specials:1. Paddington Birthday Bonanza2. Paddington Goes To School3. Paddington Goes to The MoviesAnd Also on Disc 3: The Wombles: Orinoco & the Big Black Umbrella/The Rocking Chair/A Sticky Ending/Great Uncle Bulgaria's Keep Fit Lessons/A Safe PlaceI Loved this show as it appeared to me in the early 80's in Columbus Ohio on Nickelodeon formerly Pinwheel. Nickelodeon Kept the five hour block of Pinwheel. Pinwheel showed live action with puppets out of the Pinwheel House. Along with that they showed various cartoon and animation shorts from England, Canada, France and various other countries. I especially loved when they showed Paddington Bear. Paddington is bear in a raincoat and hat who is named after the town where he was found at the Paddington airport. No remastering of the video quality. However, no grainy picture or lines on any of the cartoon shorts. Keeping with the original clean video quality is what made this set so special to me. Your kids will love this DVD collection as I said early each short is 10 minutes or less. I hope you will enjoy this as much as I have walking back in time down memory lane. Come on who could resist making a marmalade sandwich after watching this.

Marmalade and Bears
One of the first things I did when I got into London for the first time was to head to Paddington Station. I didn't have much reason to be there, other than--even though I am American--I grew up on the books and cartoons of a certain lovable bear from deepest, darkest Peru. Paddington Bear contributed to my life-long love of marmalade, and had been a big influence on my going to Britain in the first place.I haven't seen these cartoons for decades, but this Mill Creek boxset was too great to resist. All 56 episodes from the series, on three DVDs for an extremely affordable price. I always loved the style of the animation, with a stop-motion bear existing in a cartoon world. The simplicity of the animation adds to its charm, as it mirrors the stories that are simple, honest, and full of love.I am a 40-year old guy without any kids, but I am still touched by the magic of Paddington Bear. It is more than simple nostalgia; I have been sharing the series with my wife, who has never seem them but loves them as much as I do.

Get to see Paddington's first TV outings that still hold up well today
I have been a huge Paddington fan for my whole life and it was great to be able to see decent quality versions of the original two series again. Paddington is such a great character in this- a bit more edgy than nowadays and willing to use a hard stare to keep people in order.

Doesn't state very well if it's DVD or COMPUTER disc
It states DVD but it didn't play and said it wasn't readable with my DVD/blue-ray player, double checked to see if it stated computer which I believe 'comp' means but it also states DVD, quite disappointed as my neice was looking forward to watching it on Boxing Day and it wouldn't play
