Hill's Science Diet Sensitive Stomach & Skin Dry Dog Food

My dog was having issues with his regular Hills Dog Food, so I tried this variation. It definitely helped and he didn't mind the switch in taste

we usually get the sensitive stomach one for king unless they have none, honestly I live in a city I didn't want to lug this back about 3 mi to my home so we ordered this time, its still fresh its still good and a great size for him, our dog gets sick on other brands except this one and blue buffalo brand but ever since I first saw the commercial for this brand of food when I was a child I decided to get them this one if I could afford it yes its a bit expensive but I want a brand that cares about the dogs they feed they also help dogs as well and shows on there packaging how many they have helped, I really like that, but since having king on this brand theres no vomit no diarrhea no problems, when I couldn't afford this for a few months I remember an old bag falling over and him crawling inside of it looking for food Id say thats a good indication he missed this food, it was absolutely frdging adorable omg, also the bag was wide open and plenty of space for air so he wouldn't suffocate but I didn't let him stay in it to long, If youre dog is sick from dog food or all the sudden starts getting sick form there food I highly recommend this brand, also It absorbs juices like bone broth very well as well as you can cook it on the stove to warm it up, we like to spoil him, we know he wont be here as long as us so we do what we can and get the best we can.

Zhaba has a sensitive stomach and a propensity to developing yeasty ear infections and skin lesions. Whereas some dogs have "iron stomachs" which tolerate anything including sticks and bones, hers does not. We've tried several dog foods for her and this one has worked the best. She tolerates it well and her poops are very predictable, arriving regularly and without stress or strain. For her, it's better than other more trendy foods which include limited ingredient products. Her skin has also greatly improved to being great with this food and her ears have shown no signs of yeast for months! I've been purchasing smaller bags locally but ordered this large bag which I will repackage into smaller vacuum sealed bags after opening it next week. The Hill's Science Diet Adult Sensitive Stomach Dry Dog Food, 30-Pound Bag is heavy and will last us for months since she's a small dog, but it's worth a little effort for me to save a substantial amount instead of replenishing the 4.5 pound bags. I've saved a couple of those empty bags because I like the velcro closure, and will use one to transfer a vacuum sealed bag at a time. I've purchased smaller bites of food and found that Zhaba inhaled those without chewing. These are about the same size as the regular adult Science Diet food that came home with her when I adopted her last November. Because she has a tendency to play with her food before eating it, rewarding herself with every bite as she heartily crunches down. As with any food, she sometimes ignores a meal, but I find that at the end of the day, she usually consumes the little over a cup daily that she needs. Her digestion is smooth now, she's healthy, and she enjoys her meals. EDIT: Just opened the bag and the nibble is larger. Ingredients are the same, the picture of size on the bag is the same. I called Hills and learned that this is a new formula and this is the new size. My dog isn't happy but she'll learn. Fortunately I opened the new bag while still having a pound of previous bag so I'm mixing both for transition.

Too Pricey for me...

I’ve been purchasing this dog food for about four years for my dog was a sensitive stomach. In the beginning, this seemed to work really well for her. She had much less gas and stomach rumbling lately, however, it started to not work as well. She had to increase gas and I can hear her tummy rumble when she is laying down next to me and we are chilling. I’m not sure what’s going on, if there was a change in how this is made or if it’s a change going on with her… But it’s worth noting. It is an expensive dog food, but for the years of quality it’s given her without what I expect is painful gas, I am happy with it.

We went through a lot of dog foods before landing here. My dog scratched constantly on everything else we tried — this is the only one that doesn't set it off. That's the entire review, really. It isn't cheap, but neither is cycling through bag after bag of "sensitive skin" formulas that don't work, and he actually eats this one without being coaxed. If you're in the trial-and-error phase with an itchy dog, this is the one I'd put next on the list.

I’ve been purchasing this for years. Keeps the dog from having stomach issues. Well worth the money spent! The dog loves it so it must taste good for pups! I also appreciate yhat you can purchase a larger bag.

I switched to Hill's Science Diet after giving my 5yr old great pyranese/shepherd 98lb mix the purina pro plan salmon. He had been on it for a couple of years but his stool was never quite great on it and after awhile he seemed very unhappy with it; he started refusing to eat at times. My dog walker and sitter had Science Hill sensitive stomach and had mixed it with his food on an overnight with her. Apolgies in advance lol for the TMI but his stool was amazing after that visit! So much so, it convinced me to switch him. In the past I had bad experiences migrating him to another food so this time - I went very slow with it over the period of a month + adding science hill to his existing food and just letting him adjust to that and then very slowly weaning him off the PPP food. The kibble size is a little smaller than the prior food he was eating but it doesn't seem to be an issue. I've noticed his coat has improved he doesn't seem to have as much dry skin which was an unexpected benefit. His stomach issues have mostly gone away and he seems more satisfied at meals. Also, the company's customer service is fantastic - I had called recently to confirm the food recipe had not changed since the packaging was updated and some of the naming convention had changed. They were soooo nice and even gave me a coupon in the mail for future use. I highly recommend this food - my dog has been super happy on it and its now been several months. The price is a bit more than I was paying for PPP, but considering how much dog food has gone up in general it honestly wasn't a huge difference.

Our latest rescue came to us with a very sensitive stomach. It has been a real battle to get her to eat. We have tried numerous and expensive varieties of kibble. Nothing was working. We mostly boiled chicken, made homemade dog food with veggies, rice, and boiled meat. So much went to waste because she refused to eat it. After seeing so many good reviews I thought I may as well try it. Our saluki/lab mix would turn up her nose and lay down beside her dish because her tummy was in a mess. She would go all day without eating, even though she seemed hungry. And the next morning she would throw up bile because she had nothing in her stomach. In my mind, Hills was always an expensive, vet food that was out of our budget. But seeing all the money we were wasting on real meat I thought I may as well try. Well, finally, success. She liked it from the day we received it. She doesn't eat a lot, only when she is hungry, but at least we found something that agrees with her. I will continue to buy this as long as she eats it. It’s a little expensive but really suits my old dog who has a sensitive stomach. She took a little time to get used to it but now she eats it happily and her condition is much improved.
