I am going to go ahead and give a 5 star rating for now. I just received it within the past week so it's a bit early to see if it is helping their skin and coats. The price was not bad for dry cat food and best of all it is not made with the corn meal or corn and grains that cats do not normally eat. So hopefully it is healthier for them as it should be. My cats have never been outside which is so not fair to them. But much safer for them considering where we live. I got this because it's grain free which is important for their skin and coats. They both started eating it the day I put some down for them so that is a good sign. And though they haven't had it very long yet, they seem to be itching a little less often. But were not doing so very often and not like they have in the past with other dry foods. So I am hoping this is another good sign. As of now I would recommend this. They are still eating it so that is another plus. It smells good as well and as long as they are enjoying it and not having any bad reactions, I will buy this for them again.

A friend brought over her open bag of this food for some outside kitties. But I let mine taste it. They really liked it so we switched. I had purchased an expensive grain free food that was $35 for 3# and they wouldn't eat it. The ingredients seem to be better than many other store carried pet foods. I like that Chicken is the first ingredient, not corn. I will never feed any cat (mine or feral) a food that lists corn as a first ingredient. I used to work for a pet food company and I know any "by-products" are not good ingredients. This also lists "chicken meal" which means it is actual chicken. Not "poultry meal" which can be any part of a bird, including non edible parts. I also like that it does not smell like clay or a manufactured smell. I am happy with the overall health of my girls. Their coats are very soft and shinny, they are happy eating this formula and seem to be digesting most of it. By that I mean they have smaller stool. If your pet has a large stool the. They are not digesting the food and nutrients well, it is just going thru them. The result is more clean up for you, less value for your money and your pet is not getting the nutrients they need.

All of the items that I gave her five star I recommend that you buy them because they do everything that they say they will do and when it comes to the pet supplies they work wonderful .

I don't know why Purina discontinued this line after so many years. It's clearly not like all the other Purina foods that they have on the shelf. They've got so many different types but they all smell and taste the same. This one however was different and my cats loved it for years. I'm guessing they were trying to make their processing easier and cheaper so that they can just make the same food across the board and put different labeling on it. I had to pre-order six bags of this because they were discontinuing it. After that Purina won't be getting my business anymore. Don't screw with a good thing because you want to save money and simplify your branding.

This is the go-to food for my babies. They refuse to eat any other food, including the Salmon flavor of the same brand. I don't know why, but I am glad it makes them so happy. The problem is, most stores only carry 3 or 6 lb bags and the cost is usually double or more what other dry foods cost of the same weight. This product; However, is a much larger bag, meaning it lasts a lot longer, and for the price, it is actually cheaper to buy than at the store. We usually buy 2 of these bags a month and that feeds 3 adult cats, and we supplement their dry food with a can of 4H wet food every day, for variety and dietary health. I can't praise this product enough as it has kept our babies fed, happy, and healthy for several years and is exactly the type of natural, grain-free food we have always been looking for. I recommend anyone looking for a grain-free alternative to really consider this product and see if your children enjoy it as much as ours do.

My big old guy is fussy and won't eat anything but his regular food and treats. Ran low on treats and had an idea to try this food in place of his treats. Treats are empty calories. He doesn't need that. I tried to put him on a better food with high protein and less grains but he wouldn't have it. Yet he LOVES these new 'treats'..........YAY. I let him have a handful several times a day and he scarfs it up. He's still eating his regular food but at least I know he's getting a supplement of high protein instead of empty calories in the treats I was using. I'm hopeful he'll get to a point where I can just change his food to this one. In the meantime I'm happy to let him have as many 'treats' a day that he wants.

I'm so happy to have found this dry grain-free chicken recipe — it's one of the very few available in stores, and they can be hard to come by. My cat has been on a grain-free diet since she was a kitten, and now, at 10 years old, she's in amazing health and not overweight at all. I truly believe her diet has played a big role in that. Please don’t ever discontinue this grain-free option — it’s been such a reliable choice for us. If I could suggest one small improvement, it would be to aim for more consistency in texture. Occasionally, I’ve noticed some batches are harder to chew than others. My cat definitely prefers it when the kibble is a bit softer or has a slightly more moist feel. Overall, I’m very satisfied with both the product and the price. Thank you for offering a quality grain-free food that’s keeping my cat happy and healthy!

Our newest rescue, Daphne, loves this one! We have tried to get her interested in canned food with nasty results. Even adding a tablespoon does not work so we opted for this food. When we first put some out for her, she went right to it and seemed to enjoy it. It works well with her sensitive stomach and she is playful and content when she has it. I tried a Natural Balance flavor for her and it did not bode well with her in any way. We will just stick with this one and make all of us happy. A win win! Update: We got another kitty that someone had thrown out...so sad, but not anymore. Anyway, we were having a hard time finding a food he could digest well and this was it! He loves it and chows right down for his snack. He gets canned food, which is Fancy Feast pate, the only canned he will eat every time. He loves it apparently for the taste and I love it because it is one of the only dry foods that do not contain some form of potato, which does not fare well with him. Anyway, again we have a win win! Totally recommend!!
