Go by waist measurement for sizing!
I have severe degenerative disc disease and have had several spine surgeries. I was looking for a supportive brace that would cover the lumbar and lower thoracic spine and this is perfect. It comes to my low sacral area in the back and comes about 1 inch below my bra line. Provides good support for my back. Is comfortable to wear. I like the gray color as it doesn't show as much under my clothing. I am 5ft 2in, weigh 150 lbs with a 38.5" waist. I wasn't sure what size to go with as my waist was in the large size, but my weight was definitely in the medium. I ordered medium originally and could fit into it, but some days it was just too tight. I then ordered a large, which fits comfortably and provides the needed support

Great brace - bulging discs
This back brace is great! I’m 5’4 and about 125 lbs and waist size 32-33. I got the size M due to reviews saying to size up, and it is a little bigger than I would like. I can still Velcro it, but it’s close to the edge of the Velcro and I have to stick the secondary straps to the main body part instead of to each other. A size S probably would have been a better fit. I also pulled out the metal rods and bent them a bit like someone else said in a review, so they fit the shape of my back better. They come completely straight, but can be bent with some force. I like the support of the rods and I like the width of the brace. I have 4 bulging discs and one that had me unable to sit or stand this past week. This brace is more helpful than my old one which had plastic supports and was much shorter. What actually feels the best is if I put this one on and than put my old one over it (shown in photos). I’m very active, and that configuration reduces my pain the most. If I only had the one brace though, I would definitely pick this one. It stays in place really well. My old one rides up a lot and I have to keep pulling it down. I would highly recommend this for people who don’t want to be stuck lying flat in bed. Seems good quality material and sewing too.

Great Product!
Made with great material and quality! Instantly relieved my lower back pain when I put it on. Only flaw was I ordered a large based on the weight which was 180-220lbs and I and at 198 right between those number and it just barely closed for me. But it was still very comfortable and easy to wear! Highly recommend!

Great support, covers ribs to hips
This is exactly what I needed. Great support covering from my ribs to my hips. I could easily size down from the size I normally buy, but because it is so customizable with the straps, it still works. Definitely recommend

I really wanted to leave 5 stars
I bought this to wear every day, and my initial reaction was five stars. I put it on the first day I got it, and the support and pain relief for my fused spinal fracture were remarkable. I thought I was going to have to get used to wearing it, that I'd be uncomfortable, but I quickly found myself more comfortable in it than without it, at least outside of lounging at home. Sitting in doctors offices, etc. I wouldn't even use the backs of chairs--the brace supported me so well that I could just relax in it.My pain was better controlled.I was more comfortable and confident in my clothes.I got compliments on my posture from strangers in public, which was wild.My friends noticed a huge difference when they saw me, not knowing I was wearing it.The only criticism that I had right off the bat was that I wish the front were a bit wider. I fell into a new routine: Tank top undershirt, brace, plain cotton t-shirt, and cotton button-down. It sounds like a lot, and I live in the southern US, so you'd think I'd be hot, but I wasn't. Between the natural fibers of my clothes and the breathability of the brace, I was very comfortable (I did try it with a synthetic undershirt, and that was not pleasant, do not recommend). But, like I said, I got this to wear every day, which leads me to the reasons this review is three stars instead of five.First, after a couple of weeks, it started rolling down at the top. The stays do not run the full length of the brace, so I was having to wiggle them up to the top to smooth out the rolling, but they would move back down throughout the day.Second, one of the side stays snapped when I was reaching to the side for something. It was a normal motion, a slight lean rather than a reach, so I was very surprised that it happened. I'm still wearing it, and I don't think anyone but me will notice the break, but I'm very aware of it while wearing the brace.I'm definitely sold on wearing a brace with stays as part of my every day wardrobe, but I'm not sure if I'd buy this specific one again for everyday use. I would possibly buy it again for more limited, situational use.

Not for women? Runs small
I use a 2XL, but it is very tight and painful. Barely fits. The stays are difficult to move up or down in their pockets, so it is very hard to make it fit better. You can not sit down with this on.If you are a plus size woman, this is a 'high-waist' design that rides up the back (over 12 inches) and low in front (8 inches) so it does not cover the lower abdomen. Depending on whether you are a pear or an apple, it will either ride up over the navel so you have to keep tugging it down, or you will get the side and back biting into your hips and bottom, or both. The sides may also hit your armpits and go up and over the bosom. This is best for people with no wide hips and long torsos.
