My dog would pull gate and bend the old latch out and escape, bought this heavy duty replacement and couldn’t be happier! Easy enough install no complaints

Worked out perfectly on my metal gate

I got this for our yard gate, (the gate is 13/4" pipe frame with welded wire panel over it) it was the only one I could find that had forks big enough to go over the 4x4 gate post. After checking the picture and reading the product page; although I obviosity missed something when reading; I decided to get it.It arrived on time, but the thing is huge. Much bigger than I would have imagined. It is more for livestock pens than my yard gate. It is way too massive for my gate. I needed one more for chain link, but couldn't find one with the square 4" forksI really wish I had a use for this, because it is very well made and very heavy duty, but alas, I will probably send it back, it is just too much for what I need.

At last, a latch that can keep a gate closed against a pushy dog, sheep, or goat!It does require a metal-boring bit and eye/face protection for installation. But that is part of its strength.

Can be a bit clunky

We used this on the gate for our dogs’ outdoor play pen and it works really well. The previous latch we had wasn’t strong enough and got bent from the dogs pushing and pulling on the gate. This gate latch is super strong, really heavy-duty. Would recommend.

We used it for our gate extension and it was a sturdy fit. Very economical as well
