Vasque Men's Talus Xt Low GTX Hiking Shoe

This is a substantial and tough shoe. Great for hiking or outdoor work. Not a trail-runner. More of a trail-clomper, which is exactly what I wanted. I have a pair of Vasque St. Elias boots - these are like those boots except low, like a shoe.

Totally waterproof and warm. Great for times when you don't want to wear bulky snow boots. I've got a pair of medium top Vasque boots, same love.

Heavy hiking shoe, but probably will hold up on the trail. It fit and was comfortable, but I wasn't looking for this type of shoe. Instead I ordered the Vasque Men's Breeze at GTX Low Hiking Shoe. Hopefully lighter.

I love and only wear Vasque GTX shoes/boots after discovering them many years ago by REI rep. I have size 14 narrow and the great thing about Vasque is they fit narrow. Have had many great pairs and wear them every day for work (office/engineering). Unfortunately, it has been very difficult finding 14's in stock anywhere. Vasque shoes usually last me a couple years and they always seem to discontinue or change styles. First time trying this style. This particular order the style / pair was painful as soon as I put them on. Especially across the top and sides of my right foot. Even after waiting a couple days, adjusting laces, and trying again around house. I will be returning them, but I would like to try another pair before I go to a different style as I really like the look of these for daily wear.

They seem to be holding up ok but I have only had them a couple of months.

These are great shoes for hiking but too heavy just for casual wear and to be a UPS driver

Shoes are very heavy. Have bought them in the past and definitely a "beefer" shoe now. They also seem to run a little narrower then in the past. Wish I had ordered the wide.
