Mission: Pet a Deer. part 1
I've placed the block after breaking it up in 4, in four different places. I've tracked droppings, trails, and visually saw where the deer hang out. I'm not a hunter but I am interested in animal behavior. My goal as of 3/1/11 is to touch and hand feed a wild deer by the end of the summer. So far I can tell that they have frequented the area since I've placed the chunks of block in high traffic areas. I don't know if it's them or some other animal, or just the elements. I do know that the blocks are shrinking in size and seem to be falling out of the wedges I've placed them into trees. I'm going with something sweet this time and see how that works. All I have to do is get close enough.

Nothing has touched it
Nothing has touched this since I put it out. It could be the deer have missed it, but since it is in the middle of a highly trafficked wood, I doubt it.

Very happy
My experience with this sugar lick has been nothing but positive. I place it in a bird feeder hung about 3-4 feet from the ground. Keeping it somewhat covered helps keep the block from deteriorating so fast. I frequently get deer passing through and many enjoy licking this. I have purchased probably four blocks over the past few years.

like half the size of 1st base etc
It's hard to tell how big this block is..... I hoped it would be fairly large, like half the size of 1st base etc..... But, it is quite small, about the size of a small hardback book..... oh well.....

It works. The deer like it.
Well, the deer that visit my yard LOVE this stuff. It does seem to be disintegrating a bit faster than the apple salt lick that I purchased, but it will still last for a while. The little fawn was licking on this 2 days ago.

Deer love it!
My Blacktail deer love this block. So too do the other little critters such as the squirrels.

Nothing touches it. My game camera shows animals eating the other blocks I put out but they never touch this one.

This is Deer Crack
Threw this out on an area that I didn't expect any deer to see what happen. Two weeks later went out and checked the camera. I had 4 doe licking the block like a lezzy adult film. I ordered 3 more
