Installing on an older Silverado.
Mahle is a 95 year old German company with 75,000 employees world wide. That's the reason I went with this filter. It was made in Mexico. My application was a 2000 Silverado, the original filter having a 20mm nut on the filter and a 16mm flare nut on the fuel line. This Mahle filter has a 3/4" nut on it, obviously it is used in multiple applications. No big deal. Use a flare nut wrench (aka line wrench) on the fuel line fitting. If you use an open end wrench you'll round off the nut resulting in a major dilemma. Spray the 2 nuts securing the filter to the frame with PB Blaster or similar penetrating oil, as the these 1/2" nuts are on the outside of the frame and will be rusted big time. Just loosen them a 1/4", no need to remove them. The fuel line nuts will be very hard to break loose. On the forward fitting, place the 20mm open end wrench so that it bears against the frame, and pull down on the 16mm flare nut wrench. I put a 2' section of pipe over the flare wrench for leverage. On the rear fitting, have the 16mm flare nut wrench bear on the frame and pull down on the 20mm open end wrench that's on the old filter. Put some rags under the nuts as some fuel will leak. out.

Perfect fit easy install.
This is the model with female threads on each end. Take your time to not cross thread connections.

Four Stars
Good part at a good price but the filter provided was black rather than silver.

It fits and it works
Well, it's a fuel filter, it fits perfectly, and it filters the fuel. What else is there to say?

It was the perfect size and didn't require a lot of modifications
I used this fuel filter to make a movie prop for a Tusken Raider Respirator from the Star Wars movie. It was the perfect size and didn't require a lot of modifications.

I am sure the product is fine however it was not clear that on a 2005 Suburban this is actually inside the tank and not reasonably serviceable. Out of exchange period now so unless I drop the gas tank I am stuck with a Mahle paper weight.
