Basically I bought this because I wanted to use my headphones to skype and chat when gaming instead of always having to use a gaming headset. Sure I like my gaming headset but sometimes I just want to hop on quick and off and this adapter works great.I use this adapter to connect my Bose soundsport headphones to my computer. If I didn't have this, I would only be able to use the headphones, not the microphone built in. I plug this adapter into my computer and then plug my Bose headphones into the adapter. Voila, I can now use my headphones on my computer with built in mic. Simple, helpful product for a great price. It does what it says and that's all I want. I am happy with the purchase. Basically you would want to buy this if you have headphones with a built in mic that only has a speaker input connection like mind did.Overall great product and I would recommend this. Looks like it will last a while as well.

I was having problems listening to varies recordings and things on the internet at work. I had my headphone plugged into my computer's CPU, but the performance of the headphone was poor. I decided to buy a new headphone, and to my surprise the performance was still poor. I decided to go onto google and research my problem and, was surprised to see that I was not the only person having this problem. The solution was to buy a headphone splitter. I then went on to Amazon and found this splitter. All of the problems that I was having (fading in and out, occasional static, having to unplug and re-plug in the headphones, and sometimes losing sound altogether) STOP.ACW

Based on the image, I was actually expecting slightly thicker gauge wire. The photo is accurate, just zoom can be deceptive. Aside from that, they work as advertised. I am quite pleased with the performance of the product. Side note: The vendor Basstyle cares about their customer satisfaction, based on follow up emails received regarding my purchase of their product. I felt that was really worth mentioning.

The wires are pretty thin, so minus 1 star. It doesn't seem very durable, but it functions just fine.The audio from my computer's front headphone jack is very noisy, but that's entirely my computer's fault. The wire inside between the motherboard and the front of the case is unshielded and picks up tons of noise from the circuits it runs over.

I figured out that my earphones with a microphone needs an item like this to use both those features on my laptop at the same time. Took some altering with my computer's settings but now I can hear and talk into the microphone while skyping my boyfriend late at night in a quiet manner. Great price for a pretty decent product.

So my friend had an older laptop. It had no built-in microphone. It only had the older style of headphone/microphone jack, rather than the four-pin kind you find in your cellphones. She had some really nice headphones with an in-line mic, but she couldn't use it to Skype. That's where this magical little device comes in. She plugs in her headset with an in-line mic into the adapter, then plugs the adapter into the respective jacks in the computer, and voila! We can Skype now, and our lives are much better.

Works just fine and there's no problems at all... I just wish the wiring was thicker. I feel like I could sneeze and rip it to shreds. I have been overly-cautious when using this adapter. So its been about a month and no problems yet. Looking into replacements already though, because my expectations are low.
