Is this product made with Nylon or Polyethylene?

I think it is polyethylene, but I don't know how to tell the difference! I've been using this stuff for years and it is very effective protection against the dreaded Cabbage White butterfly, but make sure the fine mesh is not touching the leaves of your kale etc; I use drilled golf balls on canes. Fred.

Would this keep Scottish midges out?

Yes, but you need to be careful when fixing as you can disturb the fine weave

What size are the holes

Tiny. Like a fine muslin mesh. You could probably filter soup with it. No insects are getting through it
