i just got it today and it taste fresh and good compared to the other brand i ordered . the best use date is very important cauz it determines the freshness of the product. its also worth the price i paid for for 4 packs $14

I opened the bag of these supposedly roasted chestnuts only to bite down on one and find that it was soft and wet. It is anything other than crunchy and roasted, and yes, if these nuts had been roasted then they would be hard and crunchy. These chestnuts more closely resemble boiled peanuts. They have little flavor besides not being what is normally thought of as a roasted nut. I am planning to return them with only one bag being opened and only one chestnut being bitten into. I did not even swallow what I had taken a single bite of. It's that bad.

Roasted chestnuts all year without having to take off the shell? Almost too good to be true, but they are really that good! We eat them plain and put them in many cooked dishes, such as vegetables and stews.

These are very fresh, moist, sweet, easy to eat and digest. I've had another brand that were drier, but these are succulent, and they 're wonderful as snacks or in salads. Good with rice and vegetables as well. I highly recommend them.
